I wasn't going to watch it, I really wasn't, but then it was starting and Mom and I were like, "Well. What the hell."

You, sir, are kind of an ass.

Do not click on that link if you don't want to be spoiled for Children of Earth.

Two things. )

Just finished watching the last three episodes of Torchwood.

Damn it.

Sad doesn't even cover it. It's like they took out my heart, danced upon it, and then gave it back to me.

So. Kleenex. Tea. Chocolate. Blankets. The Office.

Practically caught up with Torchwood. I'd been dragging my feet a little. Pretty much for no good reason other than being a little bit annoyed by the writers.

But now I've watched Dead Man Walking and A Day in the Death )

The trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie is up!! I am flailing so hard right now. It was mostly just a giant grin, but then the theme music came on and I am just a fool for it all.

And I seriously need the Indiana Jones theme. Why don't I have it already? Bah.

Which reminds me of the time Mom, Tom, EB, and I went to the movies in Wenatchee. While we were waiting for the film to start, Mom said, "I know! Let's all hum a different John Williams theme!" I think we had Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Superman going. I was slouched down in my seat, not really embarrassed, but unlikely to loudly hum something.

Anyway. Let's talk about Torchwood.

This kind of went everywhere. Mostly because my thoughts are still kind of everywhere.

Thank you, James Marsden: "Love is patient. Love is kind. Love means slowly losing your mind."

Since I'm quoting it, I might as well take the opportunity to say that if you're looking for a light piece of fluff movie, 27 Dresses is entertaining. And James Marsden...To quote Christina from Ugly Betty, "I'd like to bake him naked and eat him for dessert." It's my new favorite way of expressing appreciation for attractive people.

I need more or new or different Torchwood icons.

And, boy, it sure pays not to be spoiled.

I caved. I told myself that I could wait until BBC America aired Torchwood. But as soon as I realized I had the ability to see the episode, I said screw waiting.

And now I'm going to ramble about it. Because there's no way I'm going to sleep so soon after that.

Things are so much more interesting when you don't spoil yourself silly for them.

Merry Christmas!

We actually managed a white Christmas this year. In fact, it's snowing as I type.

An uneventful couple of days. Yesterday was spent watching Eddie Izzard and Dylan Moran on BBCAmerica and reading David Sedaris. It all worked really well for my mood. Then the whole family went to evening mass where instead of Joseph and Mary we had Joel and Terri. My parents, being the closest married couple to the front of the church, where asked to hold the plaster baby Jesus so we could all worship. If we wanted. Tom and I didn't go up. One, because I'm a little uncomfortable doing that sort of thing and two, because it was our parents and that's even weirder and we couldn't stop laughing. Especially funny because Mom is the only non-Catholic, un-baptized one in the immediate family. Oh, church. Plus, when we got there everything was all locked up. The priest apparently didn't even have a key. Seriously. Only in Royal City.

Then we came back and I stayed up late watching The Soup and Drop Dead Gorgeous and finally writing something after not being at all in the mood for it for days. This morning we all got up, did the present thing, than I lazed about all day because it's Christmas and who needs to actually do things? Not me, that's who.

Had a family dinner, which was very good, and pie, which got stuck in my teeth. Watched Torchwood with Mom. )

The plan is to head back to Seattle on Friday. Winter quarter starts January 3. It's going to be interesting.
