Bring on the Christ symbolism, baby!

That was brilliant. Just lots and lots of love from me. It was just so wonderfully intense and, though the Beast (whatever they were calling him) made me laugh more than anything, it really was a great way to end a season. I mean, unlike SGA, I was actually worried for several of the characters. Despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I read everyone was supposed to return next season.

There were lots of little things that I really liked in the last two eps, like the stuff in the past. And while, wow, the Jack/Jack kiss was a good kiss, it was the hand-holding that got me.

Other things:

- Ianto looking quite threatening with the gun turned on Owen.

- Ianto visibly keeping his emotions in check. Until, of course...

- The coat. Oh dear God. Ianto.

- Jack doing the cruel thing and turning on everyone. I still like that he's gotten darker. It works.

- Ianto's "what have you done?" when Owen shot Jack. Going all the way back to "Cyberwoman" and Ianto's promise that he'd watch Jack suffer and die. Tell us that again, Ianto, and see if we believe you.

In fact, a lot of this reflected Ianto doing some sort of cojone-growing since "Cyberwoman." (Not that, y'know, I thought he was lacking or anything.) Either that or he didn't want to shoot Jack and had no problem shooting Owen.

- The other kiss, the one that I was so very happily spoiled for. While it would be nice to have more, I really liked it. The awkwardness of "Do we shake hands? Do we hug?" Jack's tiny eyeroll of, "Just come here already." The ease of movement from hug to kiss, all conveying, to me at least, a sense of "Yes, I'm here. It's me."

- "The right kind of doctor."

- The hand in the jar. Confession time. Do you know how long it took me to realize just where the hand had come from? Oh, most of the season. I knew it was connected (ha) to the Doctor because of its importance to Jack and the oh so subtle use of the DW music, but I couldn't figure out why. And then I finally remembered "The Christmas Invasion." Oh, I am so quick.

So the hand. And the music. I was just sitting there, waiting for that oh so distinctive sound. Exciting.

I keep trying to think of things that don't involve Ianto, but I'm having trouble. I can't help it if I have an obvious preference toward certain characters. Although I will say that I really do like Tosh and was worried that she'd get offed in 1941 by a bomb or something. Owen has grown on me. He's definitely interesting, so it's nice that he'll be around so we can see where that goes. Gwen...I feel so conflicted about Gwen. We'll just leave it at that.

Anyway. That was fun. Yea, team.

Things are so much more interesting when you don't spoil yourself silly for them.
