Oh, man. I freaking love BSG, but I think it's actually trying to kill me.

Wasting time before my first Chaucer class. Y'all will get to hear initial impressions tomorrow after I've had all three of my classes at least once.

Today's my mom's birthday. I'm really happy with her gift this year. I just wish I could actually be around to give it to her.

Working my way through season two of The Office (US) and Dwight just quoted Smallville.

DWIGHT: And in conclusion, I think Lex Luthor said it best when he said, "Dad, you have no idea what I'm capable of."
MICHAEL: That's from Superman?
DWIGHT: Smallville. And that is why I feel I deserve a raise.

And then from the next ep...

MICHAEL: We are celebrating our freedom and our manhood. You know what? Why don't we watch that show you've been wanting to watch? That stupid Battleship Galaxy...
DWIGHT: Battlestar Galactica?
MICHAEL: That's right. Whatever stupid show you want to watch, we're watching it.

I'm afraid I might have more in common with Dwight than I'm comfortable with. Randomly, Michael is kind of growing on me. Jim remains wonderful. And Jim/Pam? So much fun to watch them do their thing.

Speaking of Battlestar Galactica, spoilers for the season finale )

Met Sara at the library. Got some reading and research done and then she talked me into getting Mexican food. It filled a craving I didn't know I was having. Enchiladas. YUM. Came back for the Oscars. Yea, weekend. (Although weekends that I stay on campus don't feel like weekends. They just feel like days classes get cancelled.)

Oscars )

And once the Oscars were over, there was new Battlestar Galactica )

Last night, in need of a really good scary movie, Natasha and I rented Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone (El Espinazo del Diablo). It was good. I think that in AFI's scariest movie moments (the one that always runs on Bravo around Halloween) del Toro mentions that there's nothing more frightening than being a child. (I could be wrong.)

And I just finished watching Clerks II. It was funny. Thought it ended a little abruptly. Is it weird that parts that should have been shocking weren't necessarily that shocking to me? I should probably see Clerks now.

Really enjoyed Doctor Who tonight ("Love & Monsters"). I'm not entirely sure why. I think I just like seeing familiar characters and situations from other points-of-view. Elton was a goof, which worked well for me because, yeah, I get that. And I really dug the end because I've got a thing for foreshadowing and really think-y speeches.

Thought the whole, "Elton! Fetch me a spade!" was hilarious. Mostly because of Tennant's enunciation. (Mom's convinced his teeth are going to fall out of his mouth one day. There are a lot of them.) And also because, boy, the whole scenario is just bizarre.

Also caught up with Battlestar Galactica. I liked last week's ep, especially Adama and Roslin, but I'm mostly up in the air concerning Apollo and Starbuck. Starbuck's great, but Apollo has lately been not much more than a pretty face. Dualla and Anders should hook up just to spite them.

Tonight's episode made me bawl. )

Earlier I also watched the last episode of SGA.

SGA - Irresponsible )

Holy crap, it's almost one in the morning! How'd that happen?
