BSG: Blood on the Scales

Oh, man. I freaking love BSG, but I think it's actually trying to kill me.
- I've always loved Gaeta, and that made his orchestration of the coup (or whatever you want to call it) hard to take. I felt for him because I could see what he was trying to do, it just wasn't the right way to do it.
It's interesting to see a character you love take that kind of fall, but it's one I think you could see coming. There were several moments through this episode, and one or two in the episode before, where it looked like he was rethinking things. But once he was on that path, he had to follow it. And in the end, I wonder if we can take the fact that his itch stopped to mean that he'd finally found some sort of peace with everything that had happened. Or at least a level of acceptance.
- Gaius and Gaeta in the end. There were tears. The whole episode really, because what a waste. I was horrified when Zarek executed the quorum. WTH.
But Gaius and Gaeta. Their relationship has always been interesting. And Gaeta just wants someone to know who he is. Gaius' "I know who you are" just killed me. The whole scene was fantastic and sad. Because Gaeta hasn't really been seen by anyone on, and after events like the ones of the past two episodes people are painted as heroes and villains, victors and losers, and it's possible no one will ever really know him again.
- They'd better not kill Anders now, too. :( Way to leave that plot line hanging until next week. Or later. Considering we still haven't gotten back to the whole "What the hell is Kara Thrace anyway?" part of the show.
- Do not piss off Laura Roslin. She will take over a Cylon basestar and KICK YOUR ASS.
- Adama. I love him, I do. Oh, his face when they told him Tigh had been killed. And then his face and Roslin's when they're reunited. The things they can convey without saying a word.
- Hera's "Ow" while looking at Helo. :( Aw. And then I caught another look at the side of Helo's head in one of the corridors and, yeah, ow.
- I was also worried Tyrol was going to get shot. But he didn't and ended up helping to save the day.
- Romo is great, basically.
- There were a bunch of really fantastic visual things in this episode. Adama leading his people to take back the ship. Lee and Kara taking out the guys in the corridor. Gaius' dream sequence. I just love the way this show looks and feels.
