Mom and Dad came over Thursday night for the various gift shows in Seattle. Mom spent Friday and Saturday buying stuff for the flower shop. Fun.

Friday Dad picked me up at the dorm after I had my meeting with Dr. Cumberland. It went really well. Really liked talking with her, but still not sure what I think of her in class. We came up with a topic for my research paper, but I think I'm going to change it a little. The idea we came up with had to do with a Classics Illustrated edition of Frankenstein and comparing it with the actual text. But that's going to require hunting down an out-of-print comic. Or finding another version. Which takes *time*. Not a whole lot of that lying around here. So, over the weekend I found a version of Kafka's The Metamorphosis. I'll run that by her on Tuesday.

So Dad picked me up and we went to Kay and Greg's where we watched I Love the 90s, Part Deux and I Love the 70s. Then we went and picked up Mom and spent the night watching the Sci-fi channel. Claudia Black was on SG-1! She was awesome and hilarious. Li'l bit of a girlcrush there. I even had a Stargate: Atlantis related dream. Don't remember it very well.

Saturday we went to the mall and I bought Coupling Season 4!! (Jack!) And Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars!! (Yea!) Also bought a couple of CDs. That night, instead of going to a movie - we were all too tired, we stayed in and randomly watched Ginger Snaps. Not entirely sure just what I thought about it. Didn't think it was a total waste, at least. Then we watched some crap movie on the Sci-fi channel with John-Rhys Davies.

The "major" thing that happened Saturday? A little while after the crap movie finished, I finished reading Barefoot Gen. Really enjoyed it. But it kicked my ass. And then it used my kicked ass to wipe up the floor. Damn, but it was upsetting. At one point near the very very end, I had a slight panic attack at one of the pictures. All I could think was, "OMG, get it away. I can't look. I can't look." I *cried*. It killed me.

Today we saw Nana Fran and went to Barnes & Noble, where Mom bought Jon Stewart's book about America. Then my parents went home. And, yeah, that's about it. Neesha finally gave me her opinion about the very small piece of writing I sent her last week. So I sent her another piece of fanfiction. This one was finished! And even got feedback for already! Score. So, that's awesome. Makes me want to write more. Which is a very *good* thing.

But now, it's off to bedforshire with me.

So, how come the mood themes I have downloaded that have bigger pictures than the Jack Sparrow theme I'm using won't work? I really really need an Aeryn/Farscape mood theme and the ones I've found just won't load.

I suck.

*

My friend's page has, like, exploded today. It's like no one was around and now BOOM everyone's posting.

*

Changed my LJ color scheme. And default icon. FARSCAPE!!

Speaking of which....The mini totally kicked ass. Yea.

*

For some reason reading Frankenstein makes me think of Lex Luthor (ala Smallville).

FARSCAPE MINI COMMERCIALS MAKE ME HAPPY.

Apparently the Sci-fi channel is doing a Farscape marathon every day until the Friday before the mini premiers. SQUEE!! Only, like, 16 more days until that! And only 4 more days until the season 4 box set comes out and is mine. This all makes me very very happy.

Right now, however, they are showing "PK Tech Girl" from the first season. I'm not a huge fan of this episode, mostly because I can't bring myself to actually like Gilina. I just...don't. And it's not even that I'm all about John/Aeryn, because at this point, at the seventh episode of the entire show, they aren't at the point where they're even really acknowledging any feelings. It's just that she's kinda blah to me, y'know? But I do love the jealousy from Aeryn ("In the beginning I found you interesting." "Me?" "Yes, but only for a moment!") and the whole issue with Rygel and his memories of the Zelbinion and Durka. The Sheeyang's (spelling?) "teeth" kinda freak me out, too.

Anyway, it's Farscape and it's all good.

And now they're showing "Thank God It's Friday Again".

AERYN: She gives me a woody.
JOHN: ??? ::stare::
AERYN: Woody. It's a human expression. I've heard you use it often. When you don't trust someone or they make you nervous or...
JOHN: *Willies.* She gives you the willies.

ahahahahahaha. ha.

Natasha and I went downtown yesterday to meet Kasey and Kit to see Wimbledon. I'm gonna say I enjoyed it. For what it was at any rate. Only really went for Paul Bettany. But! Captain Pellew! I saw his name in the opening credits and I'm going "is that-? i think that's-? is it??" and then he came on screen. Heh. Go Robert Lindsay.

I am such a weirdo.

Beforehand, Natasha and I went to Suncoast because I wanted to get Eternal Sunshine, but it was friggin' sold out. ::pout:: They *did* have Coffee and Cigarettes, so I bought that instead. And reserved Farscape season 4. I overheard the employees and a couple of customers talking about Jane Espenson and Tim Minear and Serenity. I love how all of the guys who work there all *know* this really geeky stuff.

*

There's finally a poster on the our other wall now. Natasha ordered the Prisoner of Azkaban poster featuring Ron. 'Tis shiny.

*

Also, apparently Orlando Bloom ::coughweeniecough:: cannot get away from playing blacksmiths. Celeborn's in it, too, though. And Brendan Gleeson (hence the Mad-Eye freek out below). And Edward Norton. And David Thewlis. Liam Neeson. Jeremy Irons. Dude, after looking at the rest of the cast maybe I will go see this movie...Because, um, just look at it!

And, omg, they've cast Mad-Eye Moody????? Where the *hell* have I been?? Why am I so surprised? Of *course* they've cast him, the fourth HP is already filming, d'uh.

I think it must be *the* time to be a sci-fi geek. In October (*squee!*) we have Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, which I would say looks fantastic even if I was not a rampant fan. In January we have Battlestar Galactica, which also looks good but has added bonus Jamie Bamber. And then in April there will be Serenity, which anyone should love anyway, sci-fi or no.

I'm sure there are others, but right now it's late and these are the ones I'm personally interested in.

Also, I saw a trailer for The Final Cut today and Stephanie Romanov is in it! The premise sounds interesting, and the cast seems good, but I'd probably see it just to see Lilah on the big screen.

I'd also like to see....Garden State, Vanity Fair, Shaun of the Dead, Finding Neverland, Dear Frankie, and various others. These will all have to wait until Seattle. (People must go with me to movies!!) Bah. Damn small town theaters. Although, Napoleon Dynamite *is* playing in Ephrata, so there may be some hope yet!

Approximately four pages left in Mr. Midshipman Hornblower.

There may be a mouse caught in our mouse-trap, but I'm afraid to look. *joins Orlando in the camp o' weenies* *realizes that sounds kinda dirty* *shrug*

Just a warning - The following bit of PotC fan-rambling is not really well thought out. It's after 12:30 and I'm tired and beware, because I'll probably think about it more and write out something that makes sense and post it and you'll all *hate* me and my obsession. mwuahahahaha. Don't you just love run-on sentences?

I have now read TWO pieces of PotC fanfiction where I have liked Will. )

Man, I'm not very good at explaining myself...and being thoughtful. I try and it just comes out jumbled. I blame the hour and the fact that I wrote the above on impulse. So there. :P

Don't mind the geek in the corner.

OMG!!

OMG!! OMG!!

*hyperventilates*

I was/am watching the season premier of Stargate SG-1 on Sci-fi and they showed a promo for Peacekeeper Wars!!! For anyone who doesn't know, that would be the Farscape mini that will be coming out in October, the perfect birthday gift for moi.

I can't get the grin to go away. I'm so excited now! This means I've got about three months to watch the third and fourth seasons.

YEA!!!
