MAL: Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
ZOE: Big damn heroes, sir.
MAL: Ain't we just.
BOOK: If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of Hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.
WASH: Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?
MAL: Kaylee, what the hell's going on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?
JAYNE: Dear Diary - Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy...Today we were kidnapped by hill-folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever.
MAL: You know, they tell you never to hit a man with a closed fist, but it is, on occasion, hilarious.
WASH: I've been in a firefight. Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity.
JAYNE: Are you saying River's a witch?
WASH: Yes, Jayne, she's a witch. She's had congress with the Beast.
JAYNE: She's in Congress?
WASH: How did your brain even learn human speech?
RIVER: Also? I can kill you with my brain.
MAL: You know, they say mercy is the mark of a great man. (stabs Atherton) Guess I'm just a good man. (stabs him again) Well, I'm alright.
WASH: We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm the hero.
BOOK: What are you up to, sweetheart?
RIVER: Fixing your Bible.
BOOK: I, um...what?
RIVER: Bibles broken. Contradictions. False logistics. It doesn't make sense.
RIVER: My food is problematic.
MAL: If anyone gets nosy just, y'know, shoot them.
ZOE: Shoot them?
MAL: Politely.
MAL: If anyone tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back!
ZOE: I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

I actually learned something in Astronomy this morning. If the sun became a black hole with the mass and the distance between the centers of the planets and the sun (now black hole) remained the same, the planets would freeze but their orbits would not change. They would not be sucked in.
So now I want to go watch all of those movies/shows with black holes in them that I've seen and see what they do with 'em. I remember things sucking. But then those are fiction and so they can fudge with the rules of the universe so whatever.
