Oh, Pushing Daisies.

I'm more sad about it ending than I was expecting. I loved this show from the very first frame of the "Pie-lette." Watching it has always felt like the very best comfort, like curling up with blankets on a cold day. It's beautiful and it's clever and now it's over.

Random pie is random. )

Dear Lee Pace, Please be back on my TV soon. )

RAY: Now tell me everything you know.
FRASER: And you won't use it against the man in question?
RAY: On my word as a transvestite.
FRASER: What's that, Ray?
RAY: It's a Chicago thing.
FRASER: Ahh.

I love the back-and-forth between Fraser and Ray.

RAY: That's the guy who did it.
FRASER: How do you know?
RAY: He looks like um...that actor.
FRASER: What actor?
RAY: Well, you know how on Barnaby Jones, you can always tell the bad guy because he's played by that actor that you see a lot?
FRASER: Yes?
RAY: He looks like that actor. Trust me. They haven't been able to fool me once. Or maybe he did it.

That's almost exactly how I watch Law & Order. Though I also go by what Joss Whedon once said about extras: if you're paying them for lines, they've probably got something to do with the plot.

Meanwhile, I'm heading to Spokane for the weekend to see [livejournal.com profile] ginnith in a play. Exciting! I was hoping to see another friend over there, but I got a message from her on MySpace the other day saying that she and her husband were moving to Utah today. So there goes that.

Got Torchwood season two and Pushing Daisies season one on DVD the other day. The packaging for PD is the cutest thing ever! I think I may have squealed when I got the slipcover off. It's set up like a diner menu and the discs look like pies and it's absolutely perfect for the show.

1. The Middleman: The Collected Series Indespensability finally arrived!

2. This video:

Watched "The Flying Fish Zombification" last night. Matt Keeslar's face! I love it.

3. Lily and Marshall on How I Met Your Mother.

4. Pushing Daisies coming back for season two! "I make pies and wake the dead."

Yea! )

And released on DVD!

5. Not having to get up at 5:30 in the morning to sit for eight hours selling peaches. Yea, sleep!

Seattle for the weekend! Birthday things and seeing people. It'll be great.

Last night our internet just stopped working. Turned out power had been lost...somewhere. But before that happened, I wandered over to [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders because I was mildly bored. And sometimes there's some good stuff. But sometimes...Sometimes I stare and go, "OMG, fandom. Really?" and then hide. Not to be, y'know, disrespectful or anything, but there is some crazy stuff out there.

I don't know why I haven't mentioned this here before, but I have a TV rec. Pushing Daisies on ABC. Lee Pace (who I loved in Wonderfalls) plays Ned, a pie-maker, who can bring the dead back to life with one touch. However, if he touches them again, they die for good. If he lets them live for more than a minute after he's touched them, someone else has to die instead. The concept may put some people off and I've read reviews by people who thought it was too weird for weekly television. Which makes me wonder about myself as well as them because I didn't bat an eye at the idea. I just thought it sounded neat.

Anyway, I am...ridiculously in love with it. It's beautiful and quirky and imaginative and I want to curl up with it and a fluffy blanket and a cup of tea and never move.
