She's got this thing about how Tony is too old to act the way he does. It amuses me. I think we all know how I feel about their teasing. ;)

Eh... I love NCIS but I really don't get DiNozzo/McGee. Maybe if I read it more, the better writers might convert me (a bit like Sam/Gabriel, which was a real slow burner of a ship); but I got knocked for six by the first slash I ever read in the fandom - some blinding hot Gibbs/DiNozzo D/S stuff - and now I can't imagine either of those guys in any other pairing.

Haha, and see, DiNozzo/McGee was the very first porn I ever actually wrote. So I kind of have a history with them. And they'll always be kind of special to me.

Talking it over with other fans of the show - those who run to the DiNozzo/McGee side of things, though I don't think Gibbs/DiNozzo fans would argue - I think there might be a lot dependent on how you get introduced to the show. I haven't been watching NCIS since the beginning. I only got into it a couple of years ago when a cable channel picked it up for syndication. I caught a couple of episodes during the syndication launch marathon, and those were from season four, after McGee was already integrated into the team.

A friend of mine was already a fan of the show and she was into Gibbs/DiNozzo (I think I have since mostly swung her toward D/M, or she'll go either way), but that just...wasn't what I was seeing on the screen. And I knew I'd seen someone I enjoyed from Stargate Atlantis writing D/M fic.

So, yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat, only I'm unable to imagine DiNozzo and McGee in other pairings (unless it's Abby, in which case bring it on. Or bring on the threesomes). I occasionally see where the Gibbs/DiNozzo is coming from (though it isn't my particular cup of tea), and lately I've been seeing hints of Gibbs/McGee. But when it comes down to it...there's something about the push and pull of Tony and Tim that just grabs me. It's just one of those things. Because I know that while I look at them and I just see it, other people look at Tony and Gibbs and see it. And still othes look at Tony and Ziva and see it.

That makes a whole helluva lot of sense to me. I've been watching since the first episode, before McGee joined, so I got a whole slew of episodes where the characters were introduced and Gibbs was the toppiest top who ever topped, and Tony was more junior than he is now and desperate to please The Bossman, and I think that just rooted itself in my brain as a ship even though I hadn't considered it consciously at all, much less seen any fic of it.

And, see, for me...I don't know. I really enjoy the give and take that I see in the relationship between McGee and DiNozzo. I like that they're on more of an even footing and that they can, and will, flip each other shit. From the first episode with McGee, I just felt like Tony had this weird fascination with him, and for me that's just grown over the seasons.

My first rec is actually the fanvid Office Politics (http://wistful-fever.livejournal.com/200512.html?mode=reply). Sadly, the sound has been disabled on the YouTube link. But it's sort of a perfect representation of the pairing in three and a half minutes and one of my favorite fanvids in any fandom.

Fic-wise Office Romance (http://shetiger.livejournal.com/456782.html) by shetiger is one of my hands-down favorites. (Also in any fandom.)
