Had a laser treatment in the Tri-Cities today. On the way there Mom and I were listening to a CD I'd put together. We got to Matt Caplan's "Sideways" and Mom says, "This song always makes me think of House and Wilson."

I flailed. Literally. Heee!

Also Ben Lee's "Ache for You." Though she thought that was more of a House-specific song.

Hee. It's really only because television is my life...Things would be so boring if I couldn't say, "This reminds me of that episode of blah blah blah." Besides which, I love it. I was talking to a friend who said she can't imagine being so into TV that she doesn't like to miss episodes. I explained that for me it was like reading a book. Some shows it's like I miss an episode, I've missed a whole chapter.

Oh! So I was thinking about how you said that a bunch of people in your media classes don't actually watch TV. It reminded me of when I saw Earl Emerson at one of the library functions and he said that he knows a lot of writers who say that when they're writing, they don't read anything else. Because they're afraid of being influenced I think he said. Which is kind of dumb, since they're already being influenced by everything they've ever read previously and you really can't live in a bubble. Anyway, I meant to mention it at the time, but I forgot.
