Damn. Damn damn damn. Damn.
There's a trailer for Smallville Season five.
::whines:: Natasha. It's gonna try to suck me in, isn't it? How can I save you with the goodporn slash when the bad television is trying to suck me in?
Damn.

There's this character meme going around and it gives me something to do when I'm mind-numbingly bored. Through this meme I ended up slashing Daniel Jackson (SG-1) and Wesley Wyndham-Pryce (Ats). And now I *really* want to find some fic with them and read it. Because I could *so* see that working.
Natasha and I even worked it out. Wesley would be at a conference/lecture thing doing demon research. Daniel would be there doing possible alien research. During the Q&A time, Wesley would ask something that kind of goes against whatever the lecturer was claiming and they'd get into a (heated) discussion. This would intrigue Daniel, because maybe he had the same thought, too. So afterward, Daniel approaches Wesley and they get to talking because, y'know, intrigued. Daniel suggests they go get coffee. Wesley agrees and they go to some little coffee house where they sit across from each other and they discuss, but they're both stepping lightly because they both have things to hide. (I can see Wesley bemoaning the lack of really decent tea in America and maybe Daniel commiserating because of the lack of decent coffee (so says I) at his place of work.)
That could *so* work. Of course, it could be Daniel who asks a question and Wesley who approaches, either would work. And the question, from either of them, could have something to do with translating/the translation of something. That would be what gets the other's attention.
And, well, maybe it wouldn't work. But I think it would be fun to read. If I was at all confident about writing fanfiction, I'd maybe even attempt it myself. But I'm not, so I won't. At least any time soon.

Tom started school today. Junior year of high school. Scary.
Mom and I watched "Instinct" and then I watched "The Defiant One." Still love in massive amounts. Also watched the first part of Rome with Mom. LOTS of people in it. Every screen its like there's someone new to squee over. Gonna try to catch more of it. Should be interesting.
Neesh comes over tomorrow to finish Firefly. Finally. Hopefully.
Oh, Natasha, I've got another fic rec for you. Short, Firefly. Whenever you want it. :)
I'm gonna go read trashy romance novels now. They're like cotton candy for the brain.

Date: 2005-09-03 07:51 pm (UTC)a couplereally good friends, I want to see them as really intense enemies. None of this luke warm BS they've been shoveling us. I mean, the luke warm thing is fine if we were going for a natural growing apart thing with some big "whoops" moment from Lex, but they're not, so I want them to cut the crap and GET ON WITH IT.And, y'know, who's to say they can't hate each other and still ::cough:: get it on, as it were. ;)
So many questions brought on by that little preview. Damn them. Have you seen the posters for this season? So funny! Slightly gay! It's great!
I can't wait to show you the John/Rodney dynamic in action. You'll love them. There's eyefucking in the first episode! They're so friggin' cute. And intense. And silly. And angsty. Just depends on the ep. But they're always friends. (yea!)
What *was* up with that 20 minutes? That was weird.
PS. You should get on AIM tonight. :)
