I completely forgot there was going to be new SGA until about an hour ago. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. Exciting!

Went to Tom's concert. Was not completely awful. The concert band is so much better than the concert choir. And while the chamber choir is even better, the music director's daughter tends to be just that little bit louder than the rest of the group, which makes it harder for me to hear them as a whole. The chamber winds and chamber choir sand one of their cantatas and it was mentioned that they first started doing these seven years ago. At which point I had a moment of OMGWTFSEVENYEARSAGO?!? Because I was in the group that started doing that and it sure doesn't feel like seven years ago. Wow. It doesn't make me feel old, it just is weird.

Came home. Had hot lemonade with honey for my throat and then watched Torchwood and ate Kissables with Mom. Torchwood was fine. Jack seemed particularly attractive. Ianto wore a three-piece suit. Tosh was around. Those are my thoughts overall. I'm so superficial. (This reminds me a little of high school when we'd have to summarize articles for History. I always wanted to say, "Stuff happened. People died." Just to see how they'd react.) Also, the Kissables were in Christmas colors, which meant lots and lots of green. For some reason, regular bags do not contain much green. I remember this from film class. That and the shadows from North by Northwest. Useless information, yea!

Tonight I am in a much better mood than I have been for several days. I think last night it peaked and now that I'm not dealing with the constant lump in my throat things feel much shinier.

So, there it is. Tomorrow or the next day or whenever I'm not so hot and lazy I'll write up what really happened over the weekend and while praising Howard Shore there and back again along with the soloists. Let's just say that I, personally, thought the show was amazingly wonderful.

Well, since no one talked me out of it and because I was, in fact, encouraged, I've gone and changed my journal. Again. I'm happy with the icons, but the text still needs some work.

Went and saw King Arthur yesterday. I really really liked it more than it deserved. It was all complete and utter crap, ie fiction, but it was good crap. I loved the knights. I think I'm as much of a sucker for sweeping shots of knights riding horses as I am for ships sailing the sea.

I'm going to put some thoughts under a cut because it will involve spoilers. And I mean that. If you don't want to know what happens before you see the movie, don't look.

Arthur, King of the Britons )

So, yeah. There were inaccuracies, but as a movie it was fun. Mom laughed through about half of it, which was great. I liked what they did with their "twists", like Guinevere the warrior and Merlin the, well, whatever he was. Now I really want to read The Dark is Rising Sequence again because I'm pretty sure they mention things that got mentioned/shown in the movie.

But I still have to finish Dune. Bah.

Tomorrow Neesha, Mom, and I go to Seattle for the Howard Shore concert at Benaroya! I'm so excited!
