I'll start posting a warning every time I majorly geek-out over a show and then put the post behind a cut. Because I can. And because these geek things are for me, but I don't necessarily want to lock them. And y'all knew I was weird anyway.

Y'know what pan-fandom relationship I'd kinda like to see?

Lex/Lilah. (Smallville/Angel)

Or, at the very least, I'd love to see the two of them interact. Because you just know if Jossverse and Smallville-verse met, the Luthors would totally have dealings with Wolfram & Hart. And I really think that even if there was no sort of physical relationship between Lilah and Lex, gee, wouldn't the power-flirting be kinda neat?

And you *know* they would.

I think. Sometimes I'm not sure what they'd think of each other, but it's fun to pretend.

Lilah is competent enough to attract some interest. Lex is challenging enough to attract some interest. And they're both attractive. (And you know the sex'd be fantastic. You only have to see various respective scenes to put that together.) And snarky. And powerful in their own ways. And completely messed up. And not completely black or white, but grey. *And* struggling with the whole good/evil dichotomy because of people they've become close to.

And it'd just be awesome, okay? Lex could be frustrated over Clark, Lilah could be frustrated over Wesley. There could be a Lionel, Lex, Wolfram & Hart meeting, with tension and it would cause headaches. Afterwards maybe Lionel would talk Lex into having dinner with him at a restaurant or something, because hey, it's LA and not Metropolis and why not do the same thing in a different place with your magnificent bastard of a father? Lilah would be in the bar because of the long day at work and the headache causing meeting and Wesley being all slobbery over Fred. She'd be sitting there later and Lionel would be leaving and Lex would be staying because, oh yeah, Lionel really *is* a magnificent bastard. So Lex would go up to the bar and recognize Lilah and they'd acknowledge one another. The bar would be maybe mostly empty, pretty quiet at least, to accommodate their moods and they would inevitably end up talking to each other. Maybe Lilah would start by commenting on Lionel, because she's kind of in a pissy mood and isn't afraid of just saying things.

Oh, and that's another thing. She lies like Lex does. They don't so much lie as conceal the whole truth.

And Lex would retaliate back with something about Wolfram & Hart possibly.

Wouldn't that just be kind of funny as well? If the Luthors were involved with W&H and Lex knew about demons and all of that, but couldn't figure out what the hell was going on in Smallville? How ironic that they get demons, but not Smallville.

Anyway, things would just escalate from there because they both need a release of some kind.

OR

Lionel is involved with W&H and Lex has no idea about it, but something bad (dun-dun-duuuun) happens Lex finds the name in a file and jets over to LA. Where he wants to know who they are, what they do, and what kind of business his father had with them. Maybe Lionel had hired them for the whole jail thing, but got Gavin and that just sucked. Lionel would have evil, demon-worshiping lawyers. He'd meet Gavin and Lilah would storm in pissed because Gavin is such a little shit and it would be someone-agrees-with-me at first sight. Lex would learn all about demons and slayers and vampires (oh my!) and decide he'd just accept Clark. After a weekend affair with Lilah he could go back to Smallville, destroy his crazy-ass room o' obsession and jump the big dumb alien.

See how I worked the slash in there at the end?

OR

Lilah gets put on the job to defend Lionel and has to go to Metropolis. Where she gets to meet Lex at the penitentiary and they're both closed and hard and bitchy, like they generally are. Wouldn't the energy in a scene like that be fantastic? Lilah, Lex, and Lionel, all of them tense and looking for the other's weaknesses. It'd be great.

Too bad Lilah's dead. And the two 'verses will never meet.

If I had any confidence in writing either Lilah or Lex voice, I'd attempt something. There's a period of time in season....4, maybe 3?, where I could see Lilah becoming utterly frustrated with Wesley (possibly around the "let's pretend I'm Fred" incident) and scared of whatever feelings he brings up and turning to someone else that she connects to just for a physical relationship. And, really, there are parallels between Lilah/Wesley and Lex/Clark, even if you're not giving Lex/Clark the slashy reading. Being bad and then trying for a reformation/redemption of sorts because of someone getting a little too under their skin. They could work through some of those issues by using each other. And that's really what it would be, or at least start as. And they'd both know it. It's not about the person they're with, it's about the sex, the escape and the release. I'm willing to bet that once they really got started they'd be pretty oblivious to who they were with.

They're dark. They're sharp. They're hard. They're beautiful. They're two of my favorite characters, and I love them.

Sigh. Too bad.
