Rambling Is What I Do Best

annundrielSo, let's see, what has been up with me lately?
Went to Seattle with Mom. Made off with some good stuff. Frannie gave me a super early birthday present (gorgeous ring). Purchased Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde, Voice of the Fire by Alan Moore (w/intro by Neil Gaiman, how could I resist?), the soundtrack to Edward Scissorhands, and a Flogging Molly CD.
Best part of the trip though? I finally got to see Coffee and Cigarettes! After wanting to see it for so long, it finally played at the Crest. It was good, definitely worth the wait, for me at least. My favorite part, and arguably the best part, was the short "Cousins?" with Alfred Molina and Steve Coogan. (And I didn't just like it best because of them, it actually was hilarious!) Also really enjoyed the bit with Cate Blanchett playing herself and her cousin and the bit with Gza, Rza, and Billy Murrey. ("You can also use oven cleaner." *snort*)
Sigh. I *heart* indie films.
My Horatio Hornblower stuff came yesterday, which makes me happy. I've (re)watched "The Duel" and "The Fire Ships" so far. Will probably watch "The Duchess and the Devil" tonight. I love it. And I'm developing quite the love for Captain Pellew. What is with me and senior British naval officers?
Went over to Dahlia's yesterday and got to see Courtney and her family that came with her to move all of her stuff. Spiffiness.
Neesha made me a Norrington icon, for which I love her muchly. I shared some writing I did last night with her, which than prompted me to share some other writing and a major story idea I had awhile ago. Which prompted Neesha to decide what she wanted me to write for her birthday. Methinks I've gotten myself into some trouble with the offer to write. Heh. Oh well. (Neesh - You're going to have to encourage me! And possibly help provide inspiration and fleshing out of the setting/world.)
I have a big urge to find/read post-"Never Fade Away" Angel fic, hence the icon. I *miss* my show. :(

It *is* a gorgeous ring. You must come over and oogle it with me. I don't know when I plan on actually reading Something Rotten alas. I'll end up taking it with me to school. But I did get it signed! That's three out of four signed for me. Woo.
