One day I'll make a post that doesn't have anything to do with SPN or fic or SPN fic. It'll be SHOCKING.

This is not that post.

Supernatural - "And Then There Were None"

What was this? Let's Kill Everyone Except the Most Easily Recognizable Night? Oh, wait. The title. Thanks, Agatha Christie. (I learned some interesting, racist things about that title and AC a little while ago. I should look them up to see if they're true.)

Mom and I were talking about the title and I told her, "They don't come up with their own shit."

"Will you write me a fic with that title? 'They Don't Come Up with Their Own Shit'?" she asked.

I don't know what it'll be about, but I just might.

(ETA: I do actually like their episode titles. It's fun seeing what they pick and how it ends up connecting with the actual content.)

You know, I'm not sure I actually have anything to say about the episode? I enjoyed it--except for all of the character offing. (Rufus! Gwen! She had some potential. Grandpa Campbell...eh. Mitch Pileggi, I love you, but that was just getting annoying.) Mom and I thought the whole episode was a lot like The Thing. (The worm thing looked like a turd, though, don't tell me it didn't.) And, yeah, a lot like those murder mysteries that I love so much.

Mom called it "low budget." I told her they can't all be shining feats of special effects.

Anyway. Random:

- I liked seeing Bobby in a suit without the hat. And speaking of suits, have Dean's been looking extra good lately? Probably Sam's, too. Actually, has Dean just been looking extra good lately? Maybe that's just me...

- It was lovely to see them so happy to see Rufus. Which just makes it suck more that Rufus is dead. Sigh. (Seriously, let's kill all of the secondary and tertiary characters.)

- Mother is...I don't know. I'm withholding judgement. There's potential there, they're just not really doing anything with it yet. Or they're gearing up to do something with it.

- Still want to know about Death and the souls. (Band name? Death and the Souls?) Are all of the plot lines going to come together, or are they all separate dangling threads that won't meet for one complete picture? That's what I want to know. Will Mother have to do with the souls have to do with the civil war have to do with Sam have to do with Crowley? I know some of it's connected, obviously.

And now we're on hiatus. Again. Which I don't really mind so much. It gives us time to play with fic. And then the season isn't just over, which my beloved Southland is about to be. Woe.

Death would be a fantastic front man, I think.

I have been reading your fics for forever, so I friended you, and I hope that's okay.

Anyway, I love the Mother! Because after I got over my fury that she's named Eve I made up a whole head canon for her, namely that she is going to rescue Adam from the cage and together they are going to take over the world.

Because Adam/Eve is the original OTP. :,D

Hi! Of course it's okay! :D

Oh, I like your head canon! I imagine Adam must be royally pissed by now, too. I'm still a little :/ about her being named Eve, but I'm hoping they'll do something interesting with her. If they'd only get their act together!

Dean was extra yummy in that suit this week.

I'm a meh on this ep too, mostly because I think they could have rescued Grandpa Campbell -- I really feel like they screwed up with his character potential.

It was entertaining and I loved the boys, and Bobby and the Bobby/Rufus stuff and reveals were great but I am sad Rufus is gone. But I'm glad Bobby and the boys have each other.

And Dean was beyond yummy in that suit -- it bears repeating.

They're ruining us all with Jensen and those suits.

I really feel like they screwed up with his character potential.

I agree. And feel like you really could apply that to many of the characters. Sort of randomly, I was always a little disappointed that Grandpa Campbell was so focused on Mary and never mentioned his wife.

well, they'd better get on with it, seeing as there's only 6 episodes left. :|

or maybe there *will* be a s7 and they're going to extend the mother plot into the next season.

I know! WTF ARE THEY DOING?

Season 7 or not, I'm still not impressed with their ability to handle plotlines.

I'm worn out on how spn handles its supporting characters, and some of this is making me wonder what was the point of some of the stories in the first 11 eps, and I'm also unsure if they're going to bring all the storylines together in a satisfying way.

I wish it were a bit easier to see what they were doing, if there is a grander scheme that the writers have got covered that we're just not seeing. Because right now it just...looks like a bunch of stuff thrown together with some connecting lines. And some of it's good stuff, and some of it I've greatly enjoyed, but overall I'm still scratching my head and waiting for things to make sense.

Death and the Souls?
Lol, that killed me.
And yeah I'm with you on Mother. I was cool up until they named her Eve and then I was like "WTF?"
Didn't Bobby talking...sorry, didn't the turd talking through Bobby scare the crap out of you?? It freaked me out, it was so weird, with the head movement and everything. And sorry, it's whole "I've been waiting for you to ask"-think was so...crappy. If it wanted them to ask it questions why was it running away from them and killing them? Couldn't it wait until AFTER the questioning/delivering of message?
AND YEAH DEAN IN SUITS! I've been noticing their ties recently, don't ask me why but I have to wear one at work so I'm hyper aware of them apparently, and they've gotten so pretty. Dean, Sam and Bobby keep wearing this red and silver striped tie...it's so pretty.....And then there's the blue and silver one...
Kay now I sound weird, so I'm going to stop....
So we're on hiatus now >.>
I'm looking forward to your hiatus filling fics <.<
Cuz they always make me happy. ^_^

I LOVE Death and the Souls. :D

Possessed!Bobby was disturbing. As for the asking, I thought it was more once they'd caught him out? But you're right, that is a little...I dunno. Messed up?

omg, Dean in the suits. I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing. ;) He is an attractive man.

LOL! I would love to see that.

It's sad but it's so true. Maybe it's just a sign they were never that creative in the first place.

I'm sad that Rufus is dead but I am not surprised. Like another reviewer said, if you're a woman or a person of color, the clock is ticking!

And now the Campbells are dead. So what was the purpose of bringing into the story in the first place? That's what I don't understand.

Of course, there's a lot about this season I don't get.

Soulless Sam, The Campbells, The Alpha/Purgatory storyline and The Heavenly Civil War.

What is the theme of this season and what is tying it all together? Because frankly I ain't seeing it.

Oh, I don't think so. I mean, they're not original original, but I think they just like to have fun with their episode titles. :) And it's kind of fun to figure out what they're referencing and how it fits with the episode itself.

Well, the Campbells were hunters for Sam to run with. And a way to illustrate that blood-relation doesn't necessarily equal family. At the moment I'm willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt with regards to the Campbells since we don't know how the rest of the season is going to play out.

Which is also how I'm trying to look at the rest of it. I'm crossing my fingers it'll all make sense eventually. Or, if not all of it, then some of it.
