I'm posting this from the computer of the family I'm house-, horse-, and dog-sitting for. I'll be here a week. There are 24 horses and 5 dogs. Phew.

Also, SNOW.

Supernatural - "Clap Your Hands If You Believe..."

I really enjoyed it. Way more than I thought I would because, seriously? Fairies? I had a bit of a True Blood moment when the preview happened last week.

- Robert Picardo makes everything better. <3 My mood was instantly lightened when he showed up on the screen. I mean, the opening credits helped a bit, too, but oh. I love him.

Also, WHAT A TWIST.

Though, really, I should've seen that coming. You don't get Robert Picardo and then use him for three minutes.

- Sam is...interesting. I like him, because he's not OH NOES MOPEY all the time, but...I don't know. I feel a little like they're pushing they "I don't know how to act around people" thing. Though he doesn't care so I guess he can't be bothered to remember how to act. Although...he should still remember what's appropriate, shouldn't he? Maybe? Not need to ask Dean but just not care about it?

Sam is basically Sherlock Holmes at this point. Only less smart. And more interested in getting laid.

- ME: Needs more Cas.
MOM: It didn't have any Cas.
ME: My point exactly.

I'm just sayin'.

- A tiny fairy attacks Dean and he focuses on the nipples. On the one hand, I shouldn't be surprised. On the other, really, Dean? Really?

- I wish the creepy fairy dude who was following Dean around had gotten more of an explanation. Or any explanation. Or a twist of some kind. Mom and I had theories and then, bam, nothing.

- Dean was really twitchy this episode. I guess being abducted will do that to you. I was also going to ask if he seemed more...insensitive last night, but again, being abducted...having his whole world view apparently rocked, until it wasn't...that'll knock you for a loop.

I don't know. Maybe I was too sensitive last night.

- I loved when Sam asked the fairy fanatic if she had a bigger cup. I kinda like Sam's earnest honesty.

If I get anymore spoiled for the next episode than I already am, I will punch something in the face. By which I mean, BE CONSIDERATE WITH YOUR SPOILERS PLEASE. I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW.

Just felt it needed to be said again.

I understand how you might have viewed Dean as insensitive, but remember. He may have serviced Oberon, King of the Fairies. Oh, Dean, how do you keep putting yourself in sexually exploitative positions?

And with Sam, I think the problem is the conflicting knowledge he has. He has before had sex while on cases, just never when his brother was in danger. Sam probably never consciously thought about how that's not something you do so all he knows now is 1) Dean is gone, 2) He has no leads and so can do nothing, 3) There's an attractive female willing to have sex with him. He probably doesn't have much previous knowledge to work off of. That being said, it could have just been for laughs.

The other stuff - not knowing when not to laugh or when to let loose on a witness - is really stuff that you need to make judgment calls on. Of course, in the past Dean's done similar things. Laughing when it's inappropriate, being harsh on witnesses, etc. Although he never really did both during the same time frame.

I agree, needs more Cas. I think it's my new favorite not!Cas episode regardless (that's how I categorize the episodes. Cas and not!Cas). Laugh laugh laugh and no cry? Awesome. Plus, Dean may have serviced Oberon, King of the Fairies.

LOL. Yes, many things should be forgiven if he had to service Oberon, King of the Fairies.

I like how you enumerated Sam's thoughts. I think it did work out for him like that, and he did say that's what happened. It even makes sense.

It's the other stuff that seems strange to me. I mean, Sam hunted alone for a year and I guess he was fine being harsh to the witnesses, but you'd think he'd remember that sometimes you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

But, yeah, I'm just trying to go with it.

This has definitely been my favorite not!Cas episode this season. I like it when they remember they can lighten up a bit. Dean possibly servicing Oberon, King of the Fairies, will never not be funny.

I'm officially writing a fic about it. Maybe two. Started brainstorming and everything because how can you not write a fic about Dean possibly (read: most definitely) servicing Oberon, King of the Fairies? That's fanfiction gold. That's Rhonda Hurley made us try on her panties level fanfic material.

HEE. I was just thinking that there now needs to be Dean/Oberon.

Dean only thought he was gone for an hour, right? And he came out guns blazing. So what happened before the guns blazing part?

That's why I have two fic ideas. Because if you go by just what Dean says, there isn't realistically time for servicing Oberon, King of the Fairies (and yes, I'm going to say that in full every time, because seriously). As he said, most of the time was spent walking back to town. In one idea, I completely ignore the time frame and he services Oberon, King of the Fairies in the fairy realm. In the other, Oberon, King of the Fairies comes after Dean because how do you let a hot ass/mouth like that get out of servicing you?

Plus, Dean servicing Oberon, King of the Fairies. How can there be too much fanfic of that?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the walk back to town.

Maybe he was lying about the time frame. Because he didn't want to admit to servicing Oberon, King of the Fairies.

In the other, Oberon, King of the Fairies comes after Dean because how do you let a hot ass/mouth like that get out of servicing you?

I like both your ideas, but I like that one more. :D Plus, it'd be nice if the fact that Dean can see fairies now wasn't just dropped.

And now I'm just thinking of the Oberon in my university's production of Midsummer Night's Dream. There was a bit of BDSM going on there. Some good uses of leather.

I want to be a fly on the wall when Bobby and Cas find out Dean was abducted by fairies to service Oberon.

Anyway, I really wanted an explanation for creepy stalker fairy guy.

I think Dean was just really thrown for a loop. He's trying to deal with weird Sam and then he gets abducted by what he thinks are aliens. I forgive him his oddness this ep. I also think servicing Oberon has made him want to over compensate with how "manly" he is, hence focusing on the nipples.

Weird Sam may also be helping Dean in a way, so he's not focusing on, you know, the fairy probing.

Cas is not going to be happy when he finds out Dean may have serviced someone else.

I feel a bit gypped that we didn't get an explanation for creepy stalker fairy guy. I was really hoping there was something more going on than straight-up evil fairies, but no.

I'm going to take your over-compensating idea and run with it. Also the whole trying not to focus on fairy probing. ;)

Why would anyone not want to focus on the fairy probing? Weird world...

I think the fairy following Dean was a gnome, sent to bring him back to service Oberon, King of the Fairies.... oh! I can incorporate that into the fic! Awesome.

Because Dean would rather focus on the angel probing. ;)

I this explanation!

I'm hoping that we get an explanation for creepy stalker fairy guy later on. I'm thinking it would be pretty cool for the writers to incorporate the fairy world into the stuff that's happening with the other creatures (the vampires and other mythicological beings popping up and running amuck).

Cas won't be happy but I think he'll get that abducting fairy bastard Oberon back. Or something. I do think Bobby deserves a little laugh after Crowley photographed their kiss though.

It would be pretty cool for the writers to incorporate it. I mean, they've just given us that Dean can see fairies. Shouldn't he see them occasionally elsewhere? It'd be nice if they didn't just drop it.

Bobby really does deserve a bit of a laugh. For that and just in general. We did get to see what it's like to be Bobby. Guy could use some funny.

In my mind, Oberon is played by Rupert Everett of the Midsummer Night's Dream movie. Because, dayum, I'd love to service him. And I love the idea of Dean servicing him. ;) Even though Castiel is going to be incredibly distressed pissed off when he finds out.

I really enjoyed the episode, too. The preview did not having me looking forward to it at all, so I'm happy to be proven wrong. And ROBERT PICARDO! I love him so much. <3

I approve of this idea. Cas, I think, does not. ;)

Robert Picardo makes everything better! I figured even if the rest of it was bleh, at least he was there. But the rest was good! I'm so glad it turned out the way it did. Fairies can either be done well or be done awful, and I'm happy that SPN didn't end up looking just plain dumb. It was fun.
