Reply and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.
mithrel gave me:
01. Supernatural. Castiel. I love Dean and Sam, I really really do, and I'm definitely a Dean girl, but Castiel's storyline, his past and present and potential future, is just...so full of possibility. It's fascinating. He's fascinating. Watching him go from this character who isn't quite sure why Dean doesn't just man-up and get things done, to one who has his own doubts, to one who believes in Dean for Dean's sake and not because he's been told to...to someone who chooses to lose everything for the chance at something...
Yeah. He's my favorite.
02. NCIS. Special Agent Timothy McGee. This is a very tough call to make because I love everybody on NCIS. It's part of the reason the show was such a joy to find after SGA, where I disliked one or two characters. But I'm going with McGee because I think I relate to him the most. He's competent and relied upon, but he's not in charge. I like him because he's smart and funny and awkward and adorable. He cares about his team and his team cares about him. He's not perfect and no one pretends he is. He makes mistakes and is occasionally an ass, but the team is family, so they forgive him. And he forgives them.
03. Inception. Difficult! It seems so new to have a favorite character, despite how many times I've seen it. And especially with how brilliant that team is. But, uh, I'm going to go with Arthur. Like with McGee, I like that he's competent and reliable (we'll forgive that one little gaping error in his information on Fischer). I was very happy after the first viewing that Arthur, or anyone actually, didn't betray Cobb or the rest of the team by the end.
I also really like that Arthur is quite still. As someone who doesn't make any extra noise, I appreciate other people who don't make any extra noise.
Though I could say Saito is my favorite because HE BOUGHT THE AIRLINE. IT SEEMED NEATER. <333
04. SGA. Dr. Rodney McKay. Practically tied with John Sheppard. But Rodney is...Rodney is annoying and difficult and brilliant and full of himself and, I don't know, for some reason I love him for it.
I also love that we get to see him grow (::coughwhenthewriterslethimcough::) from the ass on SG-1 who didn't understand why Carter would risk everything to save a team member to someone who repeatedly put his own life on the line forSheppard Atlantis and his team, who didn't want to see other people sacrifice themselves for the greater good.

"Rodney is annoying and difficult and brilliant and full of himself and, I don't know, for some reason I love him for it."
^YES. This is the only reasoning I need.

Of course, Rodney wouldn't have been right without Hewlett...
I'm so tempted to just ramble at you about these guys, but I'm cutting myself off. ;)
