Saw How to Train Your Dragon today. In 3D! Loved it. A lot.
I've only seen three films in 3D, counting this one, and I'd argue this one used it the best. Up was nice and subtle. Alice in Wonderland wouldn't have lost anything for me had I seen it without the fun glasses. But this...everything had such depth and texture. It was kind of fantastic.
And the flying scenes were amazing.
Toothless reminded me a lot of one of my cats.
I need to find someone else to drag to see it because I want to see it again.
Oh, speaking of dragons. Season two of Merlin started on SyFy tonight. I...have mixed feelings about it at the moment. I forgot how goddamned adorable Merlin is. D'aww.
I did think it would be kind of fun to see Merlin go evil, though. In a purely "that'd show them" kind of way. I mean, he was so befuddled and bleary when Arthur found him in the stable. He clearly didn't know what was going on and he had manure on his face and Arthur is kind of a twatwaffle.
Although, I do like thinking that later - after Arthur dumped his armor off with Merlin - Arthur didn't apologize in words so much in actions. Private actions. Public ones still have to make him look like a twatwaffle. It is decreed or something.
I also like playing the same game I used to play with Sheppard and McKay. Here is where Person A clearly already has feelings for Person B. Here is where Person B realizes the depth of feeling they have for Person A and react badly. Merlin clearly loves Arthur (you'd have to feel something for the guy to stick with him, I think). And Arthur...he'll get there eventually.
