Compulsion
Nov. 18th, 2009 12:16 pmI have to remind myself that just because I have finished/posted fic does not mean I have to immediately start on the next thing. Other than continuing writing every day, that is.
Unfortunately, much like needing to start a new book once I finish one, the writing is becoming a bit more of a compulsion. I move one file to "completed," clap my hands and go, "Okay, now what?" because it doesn't feel right not to be working on something.
I have a "now what" ready to begin, but no beginning. I don't want to force it because if I do that, it will feel forced and not work the way I want it to and then I will be Miss Crankypants some more. And I'm already feeling pretty mopey today so I don't need that.
Except I really want to work on something.
Haircut later today. And then at some point we are dying my hair red. Exciting, I know.
