Puppy Update
Nov. 2nd, 2009 03:21 pmI'll have to get other pictures of Taz and Copper, but the seven we have left are here.
This is Cracker (so named for the Goldfish Cracker mark on the top of her head) trying to climb my legs. She's a sweetie. She absolutely melts in your arms when you get her on her back and rub her tummy.
From left to right: Cracker, Izzie, Chuck, Jay, and Nike. I think that's probably Rowdy's back you can see at the very right.
Cracker and Izzie will be heading to the Seattle-area. Chuck is named after ground chuck. Because he looks like a holstein. Jay has white markings on his back in the shape of a Jay. Nike has a little white bit on her forehead that's almost like the Nike swoop/swish/logo. It also works with my love of Greek mythology.
Jay has the biggest bark. He's kind of an attention whore. Well, they all are. Jay just wants to be bulky in your lap.
Nike and Rowdy. I'm keeping Nike. I wanted to keep Nike from the beginning. She's the most docile and I was afraid that if given to the wrong person/family, they wouldn't treat her right. She's really sweet, but we're working on some behavioral things with her. By which I do not mean that she behaves badly, just that she's very submissive and she doesn't need to be. She exhibits submissive behavior and will sometimes urinate when you handle her. Now that we're down to seven puppies, though, she seems to be finding her place a little better.
She also came when I called her the other day.
My brother is keeping Rowdy. He's the littlest and has a pretty big attitude, hence the name. Tom said that if someone else wanted to take him, they could. I told him that was a load of bologna. Rowdy's wee little puppy heart would break if he had to leave Tom.
Uno. Because he was born first.
I wish I had better pictures of Chuck. He's got a great face. We weren't originally going to keep him, but, seriously, you look at him and you just...can't not laugh. He's freaking adorable. I basically end up calling him Chuckles most of the time. He's just roly-poly and wags his tail and trots and has this face and, yeah. It's good we're keeping him. Mom finally had to say, "I don't think I can give him up."

Date: 2009-11-03 09:01 pm (UTC)They're actually part Red Heeler, part Border Collie. It's been great seeing which breed attributes show up in each.
