Random SPN Drabble

But here's a random drabble - a scene, really - that floated in somewhere during that doze. I hope it makes sense outside my own mind. I figured, leave it my notebook or post it? So.
I feel like I've done something very similar before.
In Sleep
The sheets are soft against Castiel’s skin, not irritating like the covers pooling around their feet. Castiel watches the changing lights on the ceiling, aware of every car passing as Dean presses against his side, asleep.
Castiel doesn’t need sleep. Dean does.
He’s noticed Dean sleeps more soundly if Castiel is near, even more if Dean can touch. Not that Dean would ever admit that, ever say, “I sleep better when you’re around.”
Dean pulls him closer, mumbling something unintelligible into the curve of Castiel’s shoulder, tucks himself more firmly against him. Castiel knows anyway. Dean doesn’t need to ask.

Date: 2009-10-06 02:59 am (UTC)I know falling asleep with them in is a bad idea, but somehow I always think, "I'll just close my eyes for a few minutes..." And before I know it an hour has gone by and I can't see worth beans. One day I'll learn.
