I'm really enjoying FlashForward so far, the balance of drama and humor, and the mystery of the whole thing. (Hi, Jack Davenport! On my TV! With your accent!)
I'm not sure about Eastwick, but I'm giving it a shot for Paul Gross and his voice.
Supernatural - "The End"
- Of course Dean wasn't going to say yes. And of course he was going to find another way. I'm so glad he did. They pull each other back from the edge.
My only question is, did Lucifer and Zachariah really not think of that?
- I really loved just...the physical details of Dean and Castiel on the phone. Like the way Dean had to stretch all the way across the bed for the keys on the nightstand. Okay, actually, that's the only really specific one I can think of, but I enjoyed the call. Castiel's, "The voice says I'm almost out of minutes." And Dean needing sleep. Though why he had to leave Castiel by the side of the road...
I just have visions of Castiel turning down offer after offer of, "Need a ride?"
Although, as soon as he began to answer, people would probably be like, "Uuuh," and begin to hope he says no.
- The whole "What? I like past-you!" exchange. Everyone's faces. Aw.
- Poor, poor broken Castiel. His conversation with Dean in the truck killed me. On the one hand, it's great to see him laugh and smile, be looser and more relaxed (the stretching!). But on the other hand...that is not someone who is well. I think you take away the booze and the drugs and the women and you've got someone who is bitter and lost and hiding under the decadence because otherwise...otherwise they have to face the fact that this is all they're left with.
I don't know. Maybe I completely read that wrong. But considering how happy Dean was to see Castiel, regardless of his timing with Zachariah, I think Dean might have seen something like that, too. Because Castiel may be weird and awkward and stand way too close and not understand Dean's pop culture references, but he's his friend and he has this faith and this purpose that Dean doesn't necessarily believe in but supports nonetheless. I think he wants to see Castiel loosen up, but he doesn't want to see him lose those things which make him essentially himself.
Of course, I'm sure Dean was also just glad to see familiar things again. Their faces, though. Both of them half-smiling. And almost a hug! I kept thinking the whole episode, oh, Dean is going to be so happy to see his Castiel again.
- I loved Castiel's whole, "I thought you were over trying to label me," or whatever he said.
(And, oh, I just have ideas upon ideas about what future-Castiel's relationship is with future-Dean.)
- Lucifer as Sam.
Okay, here's the thing. I thought it was mostly really good, but occasionally Jared would end a sentence and it...wouldn't sound quite right to me. Maybe it was just the softening of accent? Or a slight addition of one? I don't know. It was weird.
But, man, mostly he'd tilt his head just so or slant his mouth and there were this little subtle things going on with his face that made it obviously Not Sam, which was great.
And then Jensen got to do the manly single tear.
- I was worried something horrible was going to happen in the last couple of minutes, what with the music they were using and the soft look that appeared. it was almost like stepping into a dream sequence. Or, y'know, the end of a horror movie where you think it's all okay and it's the only scene since the first five minutes that has sunshine and then BAM! the believed-dead bad guy is bursting through the door/dock/grave.
I really like the look of that location, and I know we've seen it at least once before.

Meanwhile, the last two weeks of Project Runway have been interesting. Or not. I'm actually not so sure, but it could just be the headspace I've been in. That is to say, I've been pretty SPN oriented lately with the great episodes and all of the writing it makes me want to do.
Anyway. I was sorry to see Ra'mon go last week. He showed some pretty great stuff on the runway.
And Nicolas winning. Well. I don't like the guy. He irritates me. His garment was good, though. I just liked Epperson's best. It actually reminded me of Firefly. I also liked Christopher's.
Gordana's was good but nothing special. Louise's was just a sign of more to come.
I...don't know what happened to Louise. I really liked what we saw of her designs in the first episode and the times when she was a little more highlighted and then it was like she just hit a giant wall.
The top and bottom scores of the runway were surprising to me. Although I didn't care for the teal thing Christopher made. It was just this teal...thing. Similar to stuff you see in stores already but not so good. I liked what Epperson did with the shirtdress.
But I really thought, at least while they were making it, that Gordana's top looked like a glorified paper hospital gown. You know, the kind you wear while you're waiting for the doctor to come back and examine you.
I think I would have liked Irina's dress more had the colors been more vibrant? I dunno. I liked it, I just didn't love it like the judges did. Weird, bitchy judging all around.
But I was happy Michael Kors was back. Where'd Nina Garcia go?

I really was an emergency sub at the high school today. Spanish I and II for grades 10 through 12. Because the sub that was supposed to be there, wasn't. Which is why I subbed that class last school year, too, strangely enough. Only this time, definitely because someone was flaky. The teacher put the position up two weeks ago and had a sub assigned only to come into school this morning at seven to find that, nope, no sub.
Because they'd taken a long-term sub position in another school district.
I was able to get there before second period was over and got to talk to the teacher (who was doing something else on school grounds all day), so I saw who was supposed to sub. I was surprised because it was a friend of mine (who also attended the school) and she told me she got a job over two weeks ago.
I understand taking the better job, especially if it's your only source of income. What I do not understand is taking that position and then not informing your previous engagements that you are now employed elsewhere and they should plan accordingly.
The people at school were not happy. And they're entirely in their right because that is not professional at all.
And I'm not particularly inclined to give this person the benefit of the doubt. Which is horrible of me, I know, but there it is.
