annundriel: ([house] More TV)

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] sdrohc_ratiug came over and introduced me to Weeds. I absolutely loved what I got to see and greatly look forward to seeing more.

It also lent support to the idea that Jeffery Dean Morgan cannot stay alive on television. Or in films. The man is everywhere! And usually playing deceased or soon-to-be.

A couple of weeks ago, Mom and I also finished watching Freaks & Geeks. Another show I really loved. It was one that kind of had to grow on me, though. Mom, too. She couldn't sit through all of the episodes in the beginning because it was the type of humor (cruel, at the expense of others) that makes her uncomfortable (she also couldn't sit through Meet the Parents the first time we saw it). But then she came back and it just got better and better until we were both sorry to see it end.

I think the parts with the geeks were my favorite. Especially Bill. I have massive love for Bill.

It was also pretty amusing watching Seth Rogan and James Franco do their thing before Pineapple Express.

Now we're working through Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes, which I remember watching one or two of on PBS. I'm revisiting my love for Victorian mystery apparently. Makes me want to break out Anne Perry.

Ah I didn't know Seth Rogan was in Freaks and Geeks! I used to watch that show. I guess I never made the connections. I have major love for Seth Rogan. I'll have to get it on Netflix!

He is! He even gets a main part in an episode that floored me because of the content. And by that I mean that I fully supported it and was just amazed to see an episode of TV handling it in such a real, sensitive kind of way.

I never saw the show when it was originally on, but it was on my list of things to see and there are a ton of people in it that I love. Thanks to Netflix, I finally got the chance to see it.
