The Matrix Revolutions

annundrielFor any of my friends who have not seen The Matrix Revolutions, the following contains a few spoilers.
Well. I will go out on a limb and say that I enjoyed The Matrix Revolutions. It wasn't a great movie, it wasn't necessarily even a good movie, but it was entertainment and I will probably see it again.
The thing is, I'm happy to forgive them all of the CRAP with the rest of the characters and plot because of Neo, Trinity, and Agent Smith. There's something about Neo's "no one actually believes I'm the One except crazy Morpheus and maybe some computer program, but dammit I believe that I can do something and I'm going to try until it kills me." Which I think is also the case for characters in LotR. Something must be done and so they do it, regardless of danger and peril. There's just something you have to admire about that kind of stupidity.
I guess this just ties in with me having a thing for ever-so-slightly-inept guys. But, y'know, whatever.
Anyway. Neo is just cool. I know there are people out there who think he is a dumbass (and yes, he can be). But there's something about his "calm" exterior that just works well for me. Like underneath he's feeling doubt and confusion and anger and hatred, but it never makes an appearance. Maybe this is because it's never really about him. All of the fighting he does may be to safe his own life on some level, but it's often to save his friends, save strangers, save Trinity, stop machines, stop Smith. He's doing it because he chooses to do it.
As for Trinity, let me just say that I LOVED her blue sky. She deserved that. And that, personally, I didn't think her death was strange. Yes she had fought extensively in the Matrix, but I think there's got to be a difference in fighting in the Matrix and fighting in the real world. You don't see them doing those flying, leaping kicks in Zion, do ya? No, I didn't think so.
Agent Smith is so damn cool. Hugo Weaving is so damn cool. I <3 them both. Smith has got some terrific lines, I don't care if they are cheesey. Loved the fight at the end between Neo and Smith. So cool.
And my whole little spiel there sort of tapered off. But a friend just walked in and we're going to lunch so...yeah. I'll be back to add to it though. Probably.
