I have a caffeine headache. :( Ow.

Last night it was really windy. A couple of years ago, there was a winter storm where the wind was so strong, it knocked over powerlines and blew in silos and flipped circles. We had a tree blow over. Thankfully, I was in Seattle for that. And, thankfully again, I missed the big Seattle storm that year by being home. Anyway, last night wasn't nearly as bad as that.

Unfortunately, I came home this morning and found out that a huge branch had broken off one of the trees and landed on my dad's truck, denting the door and busting the window out. Not good. But that's what insurance is for.

If I had been home, instead of house-sitting, it would have been the car I drive parked there. There is also no way I would have slept last night if I had heard that right outside my window. Windy nights make me afraid another tree will blow over and hit the house this time.

In the time that I've been staying with Kit [even through the past five years], I get pretty frightened when it's windy. In fact, when they were predicting really heavy winds back in November, we were "on alert" among the family that would put us all together in the living room on couches and the floor due to all the big trees that could fall on the roof. Luckily, that never happened.

Wind is scary! I knew a bunch of people in Seattle, though, who would always be like, "What? You hate the wind? I love it!" I don't think they really understood what type of wind I was talking about though.

I'd feel better if my room were on the other side of the house, but that still probably wouldn't help much.

Last night at 12:25 or so as i was sitting here going 'oh god please don't let my wonky window shatter!' I was also thinking; 'I bet Mary is really happy she's not home right now.'

I wondered if any of your trees did anything dumb, bummer!!

I wasn't happy about not being home until I found out what happened the next day. Scary wind at strange house? Not my favorite thing ever. Though there was once or twice when I thought, hey, no trees to worry about!
