Project Runway

Liked: Leanne, Kenley
Borderline: Jerell, Korto
I think the problem with the designers' behavior on the runway has a lot to do with trying to find a balance. You have to defend your work, but you have to do it in such a way as to not piss off the judges/the fans/the other designers. It's a fine line, I think.
Also, BravoTV.com fails at surprises. A couple of weeks ago they had a picture up from Bryant Park that had the three girls looking concerned. So I was not surprised by tonight's outcome.
- I loved the neckline of Leanne's original wedding dress. Loved the neckline of the final one, too, though. Very cool and clean. Plus, the dress for the bridesmaid was really lovely. Really love the colors she's working with.
Could I use "love" anymore there?
- Kenley's two dresses for tonight's challenge were adorable. Totally cute. Seeing that picture of her grandmother she had hanging on the wall, it became clear where her sense of style was coming from.
- Jerell's dress was something else. Overall I liked it, but there were details that just did not work for me. Like the dirty looking tulle and the overall lumpiness of the thing. It was fine until the pulled out on the runway and the whole thing looked like a strange lump of mashed potatoes. I did mostly like the neckline, though.
- Korto's design wasn't bad. It just was blah. Which can be just as bad as horrible. The color didn't really work for me, like Jerell's, and there were just too many pleats and tucks and things.

Really liked both of Leanne's and Kenley's, even though she still annoys the bejeesus out of me! :P
Also, there is no possible way for me to love Tim Gunn more than I do right now. <3

TIM. omg. When Tim gets sniffly, I get sniffly.

Bitch!Kenley stayed and that makes me ANGRY. I don't care if she's an amazing designer. I don't care that she's had to fight all her life. She still has a sucky attitude. I also realize a lot of fashion designers and those in that world are snobs, but shit, this goes past snobbery and straight into assfacery.
I'm done. :P

Date: 2008-10-10 08:13 pm (UTC)Anyway. Basically I'm fine with the way things played out. Mostly because I didn't really start enjoying Jerell's designs until they started being, y'know, good a few weeks ago.
Plus, I don't think Kenley will win. And, like, the final six or something all show at Bryant Park anyway, so it's not as though, say, Suede isn't getting a chance to show his collection.
