I love it when things make me flaily. Right now we're talking high-pitched giddiness over here. And I really needed something extra flail-worthy. These last couple of days have been less than great.
I started reading Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books sometime in 2006. The first one was exactly the sort of thing I needed as distraction from school work at the time. I sped through that book. The second one was a little slower, partly because of classes interrupting it and partly because I had some issues with it. Still haven't read the third one. I want to, but if I don't put it off some more and deal with the problems I started having, I'm going to be way too judgmental of books that are just fun. And I don't want that to happen, because I have great memories of reading the first one.
I wasn't that excited to hear that they were making a movie. I've been sort of following the news for it (who's in it, where they filmed, etc.), but not really caring much. But then today I see that there's a trailer and, omg, FLAILING. What I love about it is that it's completely made me forgot those small things that bother me and reminded me of all the little things I loved.
When Robert Pattinson was cast, I wasn't overly excited. But seeing the trailer now, I think he's probably totally perfect for Edward.
Although, I guess I should probably say that if I hadn't read the books? There's a possibility I would have been rolling my eyes a little bit. "Not another one of those mysteries supernatural teen movies."
But whatever. I'm EXCITED.
