Ten More Random Things About Me
Apr. 22nd, 2008 10:30 pm"Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 random things, facts, goals, or habits about yourself. At the end, choose anyone you think may answer - to be tagged, listing their names & why you chose them. You can't tag a person who has tagged you."
1. Right before sixth grade started, my mom brought me copies of Rebecca and Jane Eyre from the library. I finished Rebecca before the school year started, but I was just starting Jane Eyre when I went back to school. I remember Mrs. Murphy seeing what I was reading and being sort of "are you sure you want to read that?" Soon, though, she was recommending me books and getting me permission to check out books from the high school section of the school's library. I'll always be grateful to her for that.
Which means, I think, that Rebecca was actually the first “adult” book I read. Hmm.
2. I'm a bit of a pack-rat and wish that I wasn't.
3. Sometimes I wish I could talk about different things with certain people, but I seem to be in a rut in that area and unable to get out.
4. I love Sour Patch Kids, especially pairing the red with either green or orange. Yum. I’m also a big fan of Sour Patch Fruits, but I have to go about fifty miles to get any.
5. I once fell off the side of a hay stack and landed on the top of my head. I didn't fall very far, maybe a couple of feet. Four, tops. Then EB hyperventilated. Painful day.
6. I love the word “exsanguination.”
7. When I was little I wanted to be an archaeologist and go to Egypt and dig up mummies. Sometimes I still want to.
8. Some of my favorite books, movies, television episodes, and pieces of music are those that make me cry. I love a good sad story. In a strange way, they make me happy.
9. I have never been in an airport that contained more than, oh, a hundred people, tops. Possibly not even that many. I have also never been on a plane.
10. I’ve noticed that my internet behavior is a lot like my classroom behavior, though the classroom behavior evolved a bit those last two years. (Thank you, Dr. Tung! And Berry!) I don’t comment or involve myself as much as I might want to because 1) I generally never feel like I have anything to add and 2) sometimes I feel like I’m butting in. But sometimes I also just figure, “eh, what the hell” and comment anyway. Just like in class.
Though part of the class thing had to do with me needing to take my time to formulate a response and other people just being faster than I was. I like to think about things before I say them. Sometimes this leads to over-thinking.
