Good Idea?

I stopped in at the school district's superintendent's office today and picked up an application for an emergency substitute certificate.

I could be helping to shape impressionable young minds before the school year is over.

I used to want to do it full-time, but then things changed at SU and I decided I didn't want to at all. Then I had to deal with adolescent boys at the library and there was no way in hell I was going to do that.

But then Sunday I was talking to my brother's fifth grade teacher and she was so enthusiastic about it all that I figured, hey, I'll give it a shot.

First I need to get through the application, though. Oi.

I wasn't going to do it, as I'm sure you've heard me say, what with the nightmares and things. But Mrs. Lefler was so enthusiastic and excited about the kids in the elementary school on Sunday that I thought, y'know, maybe I should give it a try. It's not like I'm doing much else, after all.
