Adventures in Space and Time
Jun. 20th, 2007 10:49 amMom and I finally started watching season three of Doctor Who. We're only about four episodes in and, oh, there are not enough words written to explain how much I love this show. Seriously.
Like many of the things I watch, I'm really just happy sitting there watching it. Doesn't need to be brilliant, doesn't even need to be particularly good. Just the fact that it's available to me makes me happy.
Although, I do have one sort of general issue with the season thus far. I wish they'd quit bringing up Rose. I really liked Rose and I still kind of miss her (I say "kind of" because I quite like Martha), but I don't need to be reminded of her every episode. The Doctor doesn't need to keep bringing her up. Martha doesn't need to keep bringing her up. I think the audience gets it without the angst.
Which isn't to say that once in awhile they shouldn't bring her up. I think occasionally could be very effective.
So, yeah. When EB is here during July, I'd kind of like to introduce her to DW. Considering all of the silliness we got into involving Star Trek and Star Wars, I think she'd really enjoy DW.
Meanwhile, I want more Torchwood. I want to know what's going on with the team. Specifically, I'm curious about what they're going to do with Owen. And Ianto. And Jack. Not that interested in Tosh because they didn't really leave her at a, I don't know, a moment where things could potentially change? Also not interested in Gwen. But that's mostly because I still don't really care for her.
