Words Spoken
May. 7th, 2007 01:05 amThe Poetry Grand Slam on Friday was amazing. For me, it was completely thrilling in a geeky literary kind of way. There is something about an audience on their feet, exploding with cheers and applause after a poem that makes me so very, very excited about words and what people can do with them.
I'd love to go to something like that again.
Because the poetry slam started late, I missed the first half of SG-1. After getting involved, I wasn't going to leave without finding out who made the team in the end.
SG-1 - "The Shroud"
I don't have anything to say that's actually worth saying, but I do feel sort of compelled to say something about the final episodes. Even if it's things like "That was nice" and "Oh, they're screwed." I've really sort of got less to say here, considering I missed the first half and so didn't understand parts of the second. Oh well. Mom taped it. I'll steal it from her.
It was so nice to see Jack again. Granted, we did see him on SGA not too long ago, but it's different to see him in his environment. Specifically, it was nice to see him and Daniel doing their thing again. I always forget how much I forget that, until I'm reminded that it was once there. (Kind of like Jack. I don't really notice he's gone until he shows up and I realize he hasn't been around and then I'm all "aaww, Jack.")
So, yea, RDA. Mom and I talked briefly about how good he looked. Not as haggard as seemed there for a little while. And then Mom pointed out that Daniel, with his make-up, looked fairly similar.
Oh, and JACK RUFFLED DANIEL'S HAIR. AW.
As to the plan...I don't know what it was, so no comment. Just, y'know... ::thumbs up:: Way to piss them off, guys!
It's interesting that they have their great big season plot episodes that they'll stick seemingly unrelated episodes between.
Also watched SGA. Because how could I not? Oh, Rodney.
Then I spent most of the weekend reading Madame Bovary and the John Donne Journal. Fun times.
