Stuck Inside His Whacky Broadway Nightmare
Sep. 6th, 2006 10:21 pmHappy Birthday,
ginnith!!
You're pretty much the best friend a girl could ask for. And other fluffy sentimental things. ::snoggles::
This week's episode of Project Runway basically had me repeating "PLEASE let Vincent be gone. PLEASE." over and over. So lucky me. There is no bad when the person I dislike the most gets eliminated. YEA.
- Vincent's was just blah. Blah blah blah. As Uli said, the skirt was very sofa-esque. And really very vertical and stiff. He seems to design a lot like that. Or at least somewhat like that, because he did the same thing with the recycled goods challenge. The sleeves on the top were weird. And all of that glue! When part of the challenge is about hand-sewing, you would think he'd try a little harder to do that.
- There were two designs that I really liked this week, Jeffrey's and Uli's. So I'm glad to see Jeffrey win. It was eye-catching and very modern and fun and interesting to look at. I liked Uli's because, well, anyone who knows me knows I'm really kind of into the whole thing she had going there. Loved the color and the lace and the embroidery. And the braiding. It was just beautiful and airy.
- Lord help me, but I also liked Kayne's design. I mean I would never wear it unless the plan was to go over the top, but I thought the lacing in the back was really interesting and the skirt was gorgeous. The front of the bodice? A little too much bling.
- I also liked Laura's dress (to an extent), but only in Paris. Weird, yes? It was definitely the flight that smushed the collar for me. In Paris there was some life. In New York it was just couldn't move. I liked the overall simplicity of it and the difference of the long sleeves.
- Was Michael's bodice somewhat Santino-esque or was that just me? Liked the color. Could kind of see what I think he was trying to accomplish with it, but it did end up not quite right in the end. Besides my plea that Vincent PLEASE be out, I was also crossing my fingers that Michael would stay in.
So, I'm glad Vincent is gone (FINALLY. PARTY.) and that Michael wasn't eliminated. I love Uli's dress. I want to go to Paris andsketch write and boat down the River Seine and drink champagne with colorful people. Le sigh.
Bravo starts another their second season of Top Chef on October 18. They're also going to start showing Six Feet Under on October 2 I think. (That date might be wrong. It starts on a Monday.) There's a part of me that kind of wants to tape them. I saw the first couple of seasons on HBO, but then other things happened and I went away to college and I didn't get to see the rest of the show. But I loved it a lot before I stopped watching. Peter Krause is great in it.
Also watched Cry Wolf today because there was nothing else one, it was just starting, I was bored, and I saw that Jared Padalecki was in it. So was Jon Bon Jovi. As a journalism teacher. It wasn't the best movie ever, but it also wasn't awful. I mostly had it figured out as soon as a particular character was introduced. And then thirty minutes from the end I changed my mind and then, like The Village and House (the one with the cancerous hermaphrodite), it turned out being pretty much a combination of both my ideas. HA. And then a twist happened at the very end. Probably would have been more fun with company.

The restaurant was accomodating, but Vincent said he didn't want it. He said he wanted to order off the menu. So he ordered lamb! Tim's like, "WTH?" and Vincent's all, "When in Rome." Which made Tim more "WTF?" I think, though he wouldn't say that.
