Veronica Mars Season 3
Jul. 22nd, 2006 05:53 pmI think
ginnith and
olivelavonne will understand how I feel about the news I found on Neptunesite for next season.
The general spoiler page is here. Now, mostly I don't want to be spoiled for the plot(s) of next season, but this was a casting thing and, well, that's not quite the same thing.
Series creator Rob Thomas is said to be looking to add Michael Muhney (Sheriff Lamb) and Tina Majorino (Mac) as series regulars next season. Kyle Gallner (Beaver), Teddy Dunn (Duncan), and Tessa Thompson (Jackie) will be gone.
BYE DUNCAN. Blandy McBlanderson.
I don't mind if he comes back every now and then, but regularly would be a little more than I would like. I mean, what would they do with him?
For some reason, I keep thinking of how Riley left on Buffy and then randomly showed up again a season or so later. Married. That could happen to Duncan. Or something. I'd be fine with that.

Date: 2006-07-23 06:30 am (UTC)The best part about the Duncan plot is that he's in Australia and Veronica's in Neptune. I get Kevin vibes from him half the time and that's just weird. He doesn't belong in my plotline.

And Veronica may be in college, but it's never been seriously suggested that this is the end of her crime solving days. Keith may say it is, but Veronica just rolls her eyes and says, "Right, Dad."
Leo still leaves me cold. Jailbait! He's an officer and he's dating jailbait! Not a good role model. And the non-enunciation.
I wouldn't mind Duncan coming back occasionally, just as long as he and Veronica don't hook up.

Explain? Kevin?

Date: 2006-07-23 07:28 pm (UTC)I think my thing with Leo is that I think he'd actually make a pretty good cop and I'd like to see him involved in a case here and there. I like familiar people, and he's one that I liked.
I think Duncan looks like Kevin Frei. I think I've mentioned that. There are just times that Duncan's pauses or sense of humor are really similar to Kevin's. It's really awkward seeing him every once in a while now and relating the two.
Other character I would love to see back? Lynn Echolls. I know, she's supposed to be dead, but wouldn't it be neat if she were in some sort of a program to escape psychotic husbands or if she were a spy or something? I really like her as a character, and her interactions with Keith are really great. I wouldn't mind seeing her again.
And I feel the need to use this icon because I rarely get to.

I don't think I'd heard the Kevin thing before, but now that you say it, that's kind of frightening.
It would be nice if Lynn wasn't dead. What would that do to Logan, I wonder? I mean, to an extent, if she did do it to get away from Aaron, she abandoned him. Poor Logan. :( But, yes, it would be cool if they could bring her back somehow.
I'd like to take your icon's question and raise it a "No seriously, Logan, why is your shirt still on?!"

Date: 2006-07-23 09:35 am (UTC)It's not that I hate Duncan, it's just that I find him uninteresting. I think the episode where I found him most interesting was where he admitted to Veronica that he had slept with her at the party and hadn't stayed with her because he thought she was his sister. So what does that say about his character that that needs to happen for me to find him interesting? What does that say about me? I mean, okay, he was funny and a goof, but I guess it's kind of like my Buffy/Angel thing. I liked both characters apart, but disliked them together.
