'Tis a Silly Place

I have to watch it again. I missed the first ten minutes and was distracted through the rest of it. But...
- DENETHOR! That's just freaky weird. (Where's a hobbit when you need one?)
- The girl who pulled the sword from the stone was the older sister on Ginger Snaps. How is it that she looks younger here?
- I kind of adore the Cameron/Daniel dynamic. And the kel-no-reeming thing was funny. "I'm still working on the basics." Also, I love Daniel when he's really working on something/solving a puzzle. When he's in that grove I can see more clearly that this is the same Daniel that was there at the beginning of the Stargate program.
And, y'know, it's actually kind of amazing for all the screwiness on the show that their character growth makes sense. I look at Daniel and he is so different from who he was when it all started (and sometimes I miss the younger Daniel), and yet he is still obviously Daniel.
- The whole last ten minutes or so. Holy crap. The special effects were brilliant, especially the supergate's kawoosh and Sam looking out across the event horizon. And, yes, I'm a sucker for slow motion and good music.
And then Vala showed up! And it wasn't even "To Be Continued," but, oh, I hate that I have to wait for more.
Going to have to watch it again. Luckily, Mom taped it. I would d/l, but with finals week starting, I should really try to focus more on those than on anything else. Also, I'm too frazzled to watch anything on my laptop and focus on it.
Plus! I have a cold. Joy.
Oh, Kay and I watched a truly awful Tori Spelling movie on Lifetime Saturday night just because we were flipping through channels and I was like, "Hey! It's Helo!" So it looks like Tahmoh Penikett is going to have to go on that list of "Actors I Will Watch Crap For." And, well, it was better than flipping through channels over and over. I am a little concerned about the fact that so far I have seen him in two very different things and yet both times he has had baby problems of some kind.
Went to brunch and had my very first mimosa. Also blueberry crepes. Yum.
