Yesterday, Natasha and I went to McCaw Hall downtown to see Cosi Fan Tutte. I had to go for my Mythology class and Natasha came because I invited her. I really enjoyed it. Compaired to the other two operas I've seen, it was much better. Going in, I knew that at least the music would be enjoyable because, well, Mozart.

I laughed out loud several times, but in the end I found the whole thing rather sad. Was actually surprised by a couple of the more serious arias because I wasn't expecting them after the general silliness of a lot of it. They chose to have a more modern, unconventional interpretation of the ending (which has always been unclear), and I liked the end. After the events of the opera, I think from a modern standpoint it would have been completely unbelievable for the characters to have gotten married to any of the others. People were hurt. Especially Fiordiligi, I felt. And Ferrando.

Anyway. It was a good opera experience.

Next quarter I will be taking:

- English 391 - Ethnic American Literature w/Dr. Tung
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 - 12:05

- Theology 334 - Asian Religions w/Dr. Suh
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1:30 - 3:35

- English 393 - Art of the Film w/Dr. Taylor
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 8:05

This means that on Tuesdays I'll have to change my work schedule a bit. Not a big deal. Kasey and Michele are both taking Art of the Film, so that's exciting. Yea!

Got a lot of cleaning-type stuff accomplished this evening. My old computer is finally tucked away and my new one is happily situated on my desk. And now I'm going through some of my old, unlabeled, random CDs and found some songs I completely forgot about. This song is kind of lame I suppose, but, gosh, I love it. Possibly I have a soft spot for it because of Choir. I think it's originally from Jekyll & Hyde.

"This is the moment / my final test / Destiny beckoned / I never reckoned / second best [...] This is the moment / so damn all the odds / This day or never / I'll sit forever / with the gods"

I vaguely remember you mentioning that you had to go places for it. The other people I've talked to who have had this class seem to really have enjoyed it, so hopefully I will, too. :) I just wish there was more than ten days between quarters.

yeah, that would be nice, to have more than 10 days (sady, my 10 days and your 10 days are next to each other rather than on top of each other, there is no love between SU and HCC) but! I will be in town for a few days, I might see you on 27th or 28th??

Stupid schools. Don't they understand that there are plans that could be made if only they'd get their acts together? It'd be cool to see you again!!

I just did a similar thing with my music! I've currently revived my love of musicals and have been listening to The Producers, Phantom, Gypsy, Cats and several others that I used to listen to anytime I got to borrow mom's car in HS. It's wonderful.

I haven't said so for a while, but I must say that I adore you. Your mom's pretty damn skippy as well. Just thought you ought to be reminded. :)

PS- I haven't gotten to use this icon yet, so I thought you'd enjoy it if you haven't already seen it elsewhere.

Revisiting music is fun! ::dances:: You remember when we drove home from Spokane in the middle of the night (I can't remember what we went and saw) and "Good Morning" started playing just as the clock flipped to midnight? That was fun.

Aw, thank you. You always seem to know just when I need to hear that. :) I adore you, too.

The icon is hilarious! Now I have the urge to go around and introduce myself, "Yo, I'm M to the Ary." 'Cause I'm strange like that. ;)

You know, for the life of me, I can't remember what we went to see, either. I remember running the stopsign and stoplight and eating and driving around, though. And the music was definitely fun!

::blushes::

I totally turned gangsta when I first saw it. And now your icon makes me feel like I need to use one of my very few SGA icons...

Well, we know it wasn't Nunsense, that's for sure. It was a fun day, even with the crazy driving. ;D

Would that make you N to the Eesha?

I have way too many SGA icons, but I can't seem to get away from it. ::snuggles them all:: I was wondering, though, if you still had icon making capabilities and if you would be willing to put your talent to good use for me? It would be for the good cause of getting people other than John and Rodney in my icon rotation.

I just can't think of it...I've seen so many things at that theatre. Guys & Dolls? My Favorite Year? Damn Yankees? I just can't remember..:( Oh, but since I'm thinking theatre...at the end of May, the Children's theatre is doing Beauty and the Beast and I know the Beast! I think it starts the 14th or so of May and goes to the first or second weekend in June. I'll probably end up going several times, but it would be super-nifty if you were with me for at least one of them! Just a thought.

N to the Eesha or Neeshizzle. I can never decide which.

I've got some limited software right now, and I just got photoshop, so I'm going to be learning that...I can't do animation till spring break, but I'm willing to try anything else you want! I should be back in Spokane either today or tomorrow so you can safely send me pictures without me being on dial up.

(For some reason, I can't seem to think of what icon this is, so I have to use it...it's titled "OMG Nipples!" so we'll see what we end up with.)

I think it was Damn Yankees. And I'd love to do the theatre thing with you, but chances are I probably can't. :( Sad panda.

Neeshizzle. Definitely Neeshizzle.

I'll just have to find a good pic now. I don't want anything fancy. Just resized, cropped, etc. You could play with color. No text though. You see, I'm working on a bit of a crush on Major Lorne and need a decent icon of him.

Oh, Shep, of course you've got nipples. Just because they're not always noticeable (like McKay's) doesn't mean they're not there.

I've got some pics. We'll just have to work together and figure out some time I can badger you about it on AIM or MSN.

DR SUH. Amazing class. You will like it...I think! Don't worry about the car thing because you won't get left behind or anything. Just grab someone who has one and that's it! Yay for meditation!
