Elijah Wood and Jay Leno are funny.
Got most of the stuff done today that I wanted to get done. So that's good.
- Got through most of the review sheet for Astronomy. I like to say the words "sidereal" and "parallax." And typing "right ascension" and "retrograde motion" makes me feel vaguely intelligent.
- Read practically all of the introduction and first chapter of Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex. I think I had to read the intro last time I took Philosophy. There are, uh, lots of big words. This class is really making me realize all of the things I take for granted being a woman in the world of today. There are still issues, but it could be worse!
- Wrote a letter to Daniel Defoe. General response-thing to Moll Flanders. Oh, I wonder if I was supposed to have a thing written for tomorrow's readings? Meh. Maybe I'll work on that during Astronomy tomorrow. ;) It's just The Rape of the Lock and Essay on Man. And I like Pope, so it's all good.
How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd
Tomorrow will involve Astronomy, Philosophy, lunch break, English. And then studying! Woo and hoo. I lead an exciting college life. You would hardly believe it. ::eyeroll::
One of our RAs came by tonight to take my picture because apparently we have a floor birthday calendar or something. Natasha thinks I should have told them no and that it was against my religion because I believe camera's steal your soul. Oh well. But you know what exciting thing I will be doing on the evening of my 21st birthday? I'll be working at the library! See? Life of excitement.
The thing that really sucks now? After going to the reading/signing last night I *really* want to read Anansi Boys. Or anything by Neil. Or anything for fun that's an actual bound book. When's Christmas break? I'm trying to save AB for then, as a treat for making it through the quarter. But I don't know if I can wait.
On Bravo's It's Great To Be... or whatever it's called I totally called the number one best thing about being gay. Cher. They did hint with sequins though, so I had help.
Anyhoo, I like this mood pic. Rodney makes me grin. Pointy finger!
