Always Our Fault
Sep. 16th, 2005 09:08 pmI must have a brain like a sieve. It's only been a couple of hours and already I can't really remember anything I had to say about tonight's SG-1. Not that I ever *really* have anything to say.
SG-1 - "Prototype"
In the previews it all sounded pretty hokey. "...son of Anubis." The commercials kinda made me roll my eyes and groan. Episode wasn't quite so hokey. The whole "son of Anubis" thing was helped by Daniel having a speech and looking appealing. It always helps if Daniel has a speech and looks appealing.
This season I seem to have developed a thing for Daniel's hair. ::shrug::
There is no overall statement/opinion for this episode. I'm enjoying the eps the farther into the season we go, though.
- DANIEL: I thought it was always our fault?
Haha. He seemed quite snarky this ep. At least in the beginning.
- Robert Picardo!! You will always hold a special place in my geeky heart. Darn, now I wanna go watch Voyager and all we have is the pilot. ::pout:: How bad would it be if I gave in and started buying Star Trek DVDs? (Probably would mean I was beyond hope.) Anyhoo. Still haven't seen his initial appearance on SG-1. Hopefully soon, though.
- Liked Daniel calling Mitchell "new guy." Heh.
- Daniel coming right out and saying that they had to kill Khalek. Not freeze him, not study him, just kill him. That was kind of surprising after recently watching earlier eps where Daniel's all "there must be another way!" Just goes to show that when there is no other way, he's not going to try to find one. He, out of all of them possibly, understands how truly frelled they all could be.
- Oh, that scene between Daniel and Khalek. Wow. That was pretty fantastic. Khalek was creepy and intense. Daniel was his own type of intense. And he didn't fidget at all. Just took it in.
- Okay, so just about all the scenes with Khalek were interesting. 'Cause he was so creepy.
- They've really got no problem just randomly electrocuting people on this show, do they? I was almost convinced they were gonna kill the guys off in Anubis' lab. But they made it just fine it seems.
- Favorite scene? Cameron going to shoot Khalek when he steps back through to Earth. Khalek stopping him. And then bleeding everywhere because, reveal!, Daniel shot at the same time from off to the side. And then Cameron and Daniel advancing on him up the ramp. That was so. cool. Hee.
So, yeah. I think it's interesting that they're playing two eps of SG-1 and SGA after each other that, really? Could have been separated. Wonder why they chose to do it this way?
SG-1 - "The Fourth Horseman"
I called the "To Be Continued." And near the end I called Gerak going Ori. Again, I liked this ep. Kid!Orlin was kind of stilted and creepy and I'm not sure if that was just the kid or if that was on purpose.
- I'm kind of amused by the fact that there's a Jaffa named "Ka'lel." That's dang close to "Kal-el." Heh.
- Basketball! Arms! Nice.
- So why's Cameron so protective of Dr. Lam? Is he just a gentleman, or is something going on there? (And why was he buttoning his shirt up after being in the elevator with her in that one ep?) And they finally come out and say that she's Landry's daughter. Unless I missed that somewhere along the way. I always knew she was, but was kind of surprised that the show was really coming out and saying it.
- Hammond! For a moment I went, "My god! What if they kill Hammond??" And then they didn't and all was well. I don't know if I could handle the death of Hammond after the death of, um, that one person in Harry Potter.
- Dr. Lee! Dr. Lee and Sam! Dr. Lee and Daniel!
- Mitchell in sunglesses. Hee.
- Did they actually get Julian Sands back in there, or did they just re-use his footage from before?
- To be continued - Daniel and Cameron in peril! Teal'c and Bra'tac permanently stuck with looks of "wtf" and "shit." Sam stuck with a prepubescent boyfriend. Yeah. It's all fun and games on SG-1.
So, the Ori need people to believe in them and follow them willingly. I'm really looking forward to what happens next.
And now we have to wait until late January. Damn.
I want next week's SGA, like, now. Don't know when I'll actually get to see them.
In other news...omg. Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney split! Gasp! Shock! ::eyeroll:: ::not surprised::
