First full day in Seattle. And the most amazing thing happened. No, really. If you knew me this would surprise you. Out of nowhere, I got up before 8:00 AM! Without purpose and with only one wake up call. Shocking.

I didn't shower and get dressed until 2:00 though. After Kay and Greg left around 9 I checked out the sci-fi channel and they were playing a TON of Farscape episodes that I haven't gotten to DVD-wise yet. So I just had to watch some. Mom too. I got to see the last three eps of season 3 and the first of season 4, which means I got to see "Dog with Two Bones" and the "Do you love Aeryn Sun?" scene that takes place. I was so thrilled, except that the scene is just saaaad.

Anyhoo. Enough of that.

At 4, Mom and I went and saw Spider-man 2 and I loved it even more. I just have to say that I really enjoy the way Alfred Molina's character was used and the depth he was given. And Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have such terrific screen chemistry. This movie just kicks ass. I keep thinking of the final shot though, and the same thing popped into my head this time as the first time. I don't think it's spoilery, so here it is: Remember that this was your choice.

Afterward Mom and I went to the mall and though Suncoast did not have the Farscape I wanted, they did have the third season of Coupling which has bloopers! and tons of Jack commentary! Yea. I also reserved the boxed set of Farscape season 3 because that saves me, oh, $50/$60. Yea again.

Must go watch Dave. David Sedaris is gonna be on. Whee!

Happy 4th to all in case I forget!

Just a quick hello before I go to work... Yesterday I watched a whole 2 episodes of Farscape...the two parter where Crichton becomes a sex slave or something. I think I like him...he's a goody, so far as I've seen. And the chick (don't know her name, yet) with the silver skin/hair/everything that says 'frell' more than anyone else. I get frell!!! And Crichton asking if his ass looked big in those pants was great. Anywho...gotta go to work! *MUA* Glad to hear you're having fun in Seattle! Happy Coupling and Farscape!!
Love ya!!

I saw Spiderman 2 last night with my mom and co-worker and I kinda didn't like it. I loved Alfred Molina. That man is my hero. Tobey Maguire is quite an ugly person when he's struggling to win (i.e. the train scene). But then again, when people are doing things like he did, I guess you can't look your best. I'm sure Billy and Dom would look bad too! heh

But I felt there was too much animated butt shots of Spidey and way too much Kirsten Dunst/wet dress shots (up the dress, nipples popping out, etc etc) I loved the idea that Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell re-appeared. Bruce's part (usher) was probably my favorite part of the movie, just cause he's a lovely bastard from my home state. Plus I've read his autobiography and love him even more. And Sam Raimi is my absolute hero. Yay to him for bringing us such wonderful things like Xena and Hercules.

Farscape! EEE!!!

I know which one you watched. It's in the fourth season, so I had a somewhat limited knowledge of what was going on. Doesn't mean I enjoyed it any less. :)

Crichton is one of my favorite characters ever. You'll learn to love him. I mean, he's like, well, us sometimes. Shit's hitting the fan, and what does he do? Crack a wise ass pop culture comment. Which we do, except not in life-death situations. Thank goodness. Love love love the line about his pants. (And who it's directed to, but that's another thing.) His ass gets a lot of attention sometimes. That wasn't meant to sound as dirty as it came out. Erm, neither was that.

The silver chick would be Chiana. When she first appeared on the show I wasn't sure I'd like her, but now I love her like all of the "original" cast, so it's all good. And finally a friend knows "frell"! Yea.

Too bad Aeryn is missing in action.

Speaking of Coupling, I was listening to commentary with the creator and Jack Davenport and apparently Jack chose "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" as the theme song. This made me giggle.

Love ya!

Ah well. It takes all sorts. But, yeah. Alfred Molina is just so cool and so great. Love him. You know, I thought the exact same thing about Tobey Maguire when he was running! "Gee, that's.....not flattering." People just shouldn't be shot like that, like, ever.

See, I didn't think there were too many gratuitous body-part shots. But that's just me. I also don't mind Kirsten Dunst. There have been a couple of things I haven't really liked her in, but mostly I think she's talented. I think, personally, the reason I like the movie so much is because I'm attracted to stories where people, not super heroes, fight because they have to. Not because they want to and not because they like doing good things, like Superman, but because there's something that they feel they owe. Or something. Not explaining myself very well.

Who's Ted Raimi? I loved the usher part! I think that and the bit with Hal Sparks (who I think is hilarious) in the elevator were my two favorite little "cameo" scenes.

I'll just make a whole new spiffy comment, because I have stuff about all of the comments you've got so far...ain't that special?

I think I already love Crichton...maybe it's because he's the only human...maybe because he's got some magnetism about him...I'm not sure, but I know I like him. We'll definitely have to sit down sometime so that you can show him off to me. I have to say, the only bit of that ep that was...odd..was the kiss at the end. It was very Beauty & the Beastish, and I just was trying not to look for the lipstick that must have smeared off on his costume, but It was a good kiss...for intraspecies dating. I rather liked Chiana..I don't know why, she just jumped out at me too. Good characters, all of them. I just need to find out what time I can watch SciFi channel reruns of other eps to kinda get a better idea of them.
Coupling...*squee* I love it, we should find a day for Jack, too. Good stuff all around.

Totally agree that Tobey was....downright ugly when he was running, it makes him look evil and angry in a non-loveable fashion. I noticed that Kirsten likes those wet t-shirt-esque scenes, but it doesn't really detract from the movie (not that I sat in the theatre oogling her nipples or anything, but I'm sure a few did). Def. like that Spidey was in it for the greater good not the personal enrichment type of heroing. He's there because he was an ordinary geek who was blessed with this neato spiderbite and now must use this gift for the general population. And even when he doesn't want to do it anymore, he does because he's a good character like that. But he still has his own human traits and flaws, unlike some superhero types. He is good. And he's completely selfless when innocent lives are in danger.

I loved the fact that Stan Lee was in the film, even for a brief moment...he is amazing. Loved that Donna Murphy (from Star Trek..8, maybe? or 9?) was the Doc's wife...I've seen bits from some of her stage acting and she's very good. I think the receptionist may have been in Cold Mountain...either that or The Alamo, I'm not entirely sure. And I was very proud of all of the train passengers, even if their courage was a little...misplaced...it was nice to see people standing up for Spidey rather than calling him a menace.

Oh..P.S. The woman with the guitar that sings on the street, killed Katie and I laughing...great stuff

And that's all she wrote

Ted Raimi was the reporter in the news office that initially said Otto should be called Doctor Octopus - he had the same character in the first one too. He was Joxor in Xena as well. He's my idol.

Kirsten Dunst isn't bad - I just didn't like her in this movie as much as others. I love Bring It On (it's one of those pleasures in life I shouldn't have) but everytime I see a movie of hers and she smiles, all I see are those two teeth of hers that protrude a little further out and I think of Interview With the Vampire and then I expect her to start sucking blood or something.... I'm waiting for her new one with Paul Bettany to come out though... Yay Stephen!!

Ted Raimi! OK, I know who he is now. I was glad to see him back. I didn't know he was in Xena, but now that you mention it, it all fits. I thought I recognized him from somewhere.

I get what you're saying. Her teeth are scary! My mom and I actually discussed them after the movie. Mom actually made a comment about Interview. (I still need to see it.) Bring It On is more fun to watch and is better than it has any right to be. Guilty pleasure are the best. She's in a movie with Paul Bettany? I think I knew that. That should be interesting.

You can't help but love Crichton, it's just not done. And it's funny, because when I first ventured into it, I had issues with the fact that Crichton looks like a football player, which I really don't dig. Now I can't even see it. :) Yes, we'll have to get together so I can show him off to you. Definitely. It's really too bad that you saw episodes without Aeryn. (I was gonna say something here, which you'll probably figure out from other posts anyway, but it may be fun for you to see/learn it on your own. (clue: *points to icon* OTP. HOT. That is all.)) Aeryn's just damn cool in her own way. Crichton is the only human, but that doesn't mean other people don't look human. Ummm...I'm thinking I missed the kiss. Was it with the girl who is all gray? Or the lady with the really short dark hair? The people on Farscape are very meticulous about make-up and things. I very much doubt you'll find any smudges. :) The Sci-fi channel won't start showing eps again until the 8th, and then they'll be showing random ones from what I can tell. I sort of warn against watching them there because it will confuse the hell out of you and ruin some really great stuff if you're really interested in watching the show.

Jack Day! Whee! ("Mr. Davenport, do you know that there is a day devoted entirely to you?")

See, now, the thing about Spider-man that I always kinda thought, and actually recently read, was that in a way he's trying to make up for what happened to Uncle Ben. So he's forever trying to pay this debt that can't be repayed. The way I see it, he fights crime not because he can, but because he feels he has to, the "can" is just frosting on the not-so-happy cake. IMO.

I'm curious, how was the train passengers courage misplaced?

P.S. It was a violin. :)

Yeah, Bring It On is a movie I really only like cause of Jesse Bradford. The movie isn't that bad, but he adds sooooooo much to it. And yeah, Dunst and Bettany are in Wimbledon together.

Gotta love the people that just add to the show. Myself, I like playing "Spot the Buffy extra". It's not quite as fun as "Spot the Billy", but I'll take what I can get.

I like Bettany a lot, hopefully the movie will be decent. V. appropriate icon I might add. :)

I don't mean to say that the train passengers courage is misplaced (even though that's what I said) I just meant that I like the fact that even though there's no chance they'll beat this evil dude, they still try. I totally get what you mean about Uncle Ben....I get how you mean about repaying his debt. I think it was really courageous for him to sit down and tell his aunt that he was responsible and I totally respect him even more for that. Taking responsibility was something that he needed to do rather than just wear the guilt till he dies. It was good.

Def. know what you mean about the farscape being random. I haven't caught anymore ep.s anyway, so I'm safe. I'll have to watch them from the beginning...*darn* And the chick in the kiss was the redhead that stayed behind at the end of the episode...I don't know names, that would have made it a little easier, eh? It was a very beauty and the beasty kiss. It was good.

And now....I'll check your other replies to my posts..lol..
TIll my next comment...

OK, I totally get what you're saying about the passengers. I turned to Tom at that point and said, "Yeah, like that's gonna stop him." I probably laughed a little in a desperate kinda "OMG it doesn't matter that they've seen the mask Octavious is gonna kill 'em anyway" kinda way.

Take responsibility! Guilt will kill you, it will EAT AWAY AT YOUR SOUL *insert evil laugh* if you keep it inside.

Yeah, I just suggest waiting until you and I have some free time and I'll introduce you to the wonders of Farscape in chronological order. It's so much better that way. And now I feel really stupid because I was completely lost about the kiss-thing. I didn't actually see that ep 'cause we went to the movies. Anyway though, I've seen that clip. Totally know who you're talking about now. For some reason I thought it still involved Crichton and I was going "Well, I know he was date raped, but I don't remember good smooch-age." But I get it now! Beauty and the Beast! That'd be Jool (red-haired chick, I've only just "met" her) and D'argo (funny nose, he's from the very first episode onward, I <3 him as I do most of the characters). So, yeah. Jool and D'argo.

I'm gonna have to teach you everyone's name so it won't be confusing (for me) anymore. :) For example, the character in the icon for this post *points* is named Stark. So there you go.

*HUGS*
