Do you ever get partway through a fic and realize that somewhere along the line, you stopped writing the fic you thought you were? Do you keep going with the flow, letting it take you where it will? Or do you go back and try to find your original thread again?

I don't know if I have one disjointed fic, one fic that will work out, or two different stories all together.

Dear Dean & Cas,

I love you guys, but really. Can't you just...go with the original plan? Quit improvising.

Thanks,
Me

I am slightly bored at work. Because I am so damn efficient. Curses.

I have that happen fairly often. Usually, it turns out there are two different stories trying to get out, but sometimes it's that there's something else trying to happen, like the story needs to be bigger or the focus needs to shift to a different character or event.

Just minutes ago, I had this weird sorta meta fic pop into my head (pieces of it, anyway). I started writing it down, with no clue where it was going. And then I realized that it's a side piece to another longer fic I'm writing. Think that's the first time _that's_ ever happened to me. (I'm kind of aflail about it. *g*)

It's so hard to tell which is happening sometimes. It's like, do I have a fic here that needs a new beginning? And an old beginning that needs a new story? (This started as a "Surprise! Cas is fit underneath those clothes!" thing. Now it's...I don't know what it is. Still porn, though. At least I know that much?)

That's awesome! :D

Vita Mollis does that to me a lot. I've got two completely different story lines in there now. :O

Oooh. Color me intrigued!

Is this a good thing or a "oh, why meeee" thing?

A combination of both, hahaha. Tony always has to go off and do his own thing, don't'cha know. ;D I'm doing my best to rein it in because otherwise everyone will be too confused to focus on the plot...but its hard, because he chatterschatterschatters, and loves being the center of attention.

Ho boy, that's just Tony in a nutshell, isn't it?

I hear ya. I have characters and they are supposed to be doing and instead they keep talking and I am like "NO" and they are like :P

Sigh.

Tony and Tim do that to me a lot, too.

Dear Dean & Cas,

Two words: orgasm denial.

Don't think I won't do it.

Yours,
Annundriel

Dear Annundriel,

Dean has capitulated. I, however, am made of sterner stuff.

He's a damn liar.

I'm not a liar, let alone a damned one.

You are and you totally know it.

In any case, should you wish to negotiate, I'm willing to -- Dean.

Yeah, try doing without that, tough guy.

I'm perfectly capable of --

[Letter here trails off into incoherent scrawls.]

(Sorry, couldn't resist a follow-up. XD ♥!)

Dear Cas & Dean,

As everything has turned out all right in the end, and as you two are - ahem - clearly preoccupied at the moment, I think it is best to call this a draw.

I'm not sure I could deny you anything anyway.

You keep doing what you do, and I'll keep doing what I do.

Until next time,
Annundriel

(Don't apologize! My grin is a mile wide. <3 I can only imagine what came next. Dean, probably.)
