The other night, [livejournal.com profile] olivelavonne and I spent a good deal of time on the phone discussing SPN. (Mostly it was about the finale and what we'd like to see next, and partly it was her talking me off the ledge re:fic.)

But she pointed out something about Chuck.

So Dean said Chuck had the whole "virgin-hooker" thing going on, which I didn't think about too much. But [livejournal.com profile] olivelavonne pointed it out and used it in a "Chuck=God" kind of way with the virgin and prostitute that show up in Christianity: the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene.

And I thought, hey, you're right.

And then I thought, wait, wasn't he asking for Mistress Magda?

I don't really have a point here. It just amuses me. And is another tally for Chuck=God.

Now I want to go re-watch all of Chuck's episodes with that in mind.

Also, question: how come some demons can just appear places (like Crowley) and others can't? Is it a hierarchy thing?

Chuck being God will never not be amuzing to me. Like a friend of mine said, Becky dated God!! And the fact that God was posing as an alcoholic socially awkard writer, it's just... priceless.

I'm about to start season 4 on my spn marathon, and I know I'm gonna be laughing my ass off everytime I see God now. XD

About the demon thing.... asuming the writers HAD some sort of established sistem for this, it could be a matter of power levels. After all, Crowley was pretty high up on the ladder, for a black-eyed demon anyway.

Not meaning this to butt in or anything, but we don't know if Crowley is a black-eyed demon or not. We never saw his eyes (that I can recollect), and after all, he's supposed to be King of the Crossroads, his eyes would probably be red.

Hmm.... good point. We've never seen his eyes flash??... I have to watch that episode again. And yeah, that one cross-roads chick had red eyes, and she was just a sales-woman, while Crowley seems to be the head of the sales department. Although the one holding all the contracts was Lilith, so maybe after her death Crowley holds them all now??.... we really don't know that much about him. Except from the fact that demons ate his tailor.

And don't mind the butting in, I love discussing SPN!

Hee, I love it. I love that God maybe wanted to just...chill, y'know? But still be kept in the game.

Crowley was definitely higher up, so I'm going to guess he got the cool powers that went with that. I just want to know more about him! (And have him return!)

YED could appear and disappear at will, so if Crowley is King of the Crossroads, I figure he can do cool shit like that too. *shrugs*

And yeah, I totally caught that Mistress Magda thing... XD

Could Alistaire appear and disappear, too?

When I was talking about it the other night, it was brought up that other angels fell with Lucifer. And if they fell, is it possible they'd retain some of their angel-powers, giving us the demons who can do cool shit?

Oh, now I really want to look at the hierarchies for angels and demons. I guess that's one way to occupy my time until season six.

I remember hearing Mistress Magda and thinking, huh, that's interesting. And then it completely skipped my mind...

I really really really don't think Chuck was God the entire time. I mean, he was negotiating for a busload of hookers to spend the night with him before Cas & Dean showed up in the S4 finale. Somehow I don't see God trying to convince an army of escorts to spend the night with him right before the world doesn't end.

I think Chuck definitely wasn't entirely CHUCK in the end; the implication seemed to be that he was God, and I can accept that, but I don't think he was that way the whole time. I think there were hints as to who he'd be in the end, though, what with lines like "I'm definitely a god, a cruel, cruel, capricious god." XD

Ooh, maybe God mind-whammied himself into believing He was human. At least part of the time.

Somehow I don't see God trying to convince an army of escorts to spend the night with him right before the world doesn't end.

It's funny, but somehow I kinda can see that. Like He chose not to be involved and was just riding it out, so might as well experience some of the good stuff. IDK.

the implication seemed to be that he was God, and I can accept that, but I don't think he was that way the whole time.

Yeah, I do really like that idea. Like I said, maybe he mind-whammied himself. (I keep wanting to make Doctor Who comparisons, because the Doctor once mind-whammied himself into believing he was human [with a background and everything] and not a time-and-space traveling alien.)

i read this crackfic earlier where chuck had been god the entire time, but didn't realize it until the last minute. kind of like anna when she remembered she had been an angel? so he kind of sucked at being god, but he was geting there. XD

LOL. That's fantastic.

I can just see Chuck. "I'll get better at it, guys! Here, have your angel back! Again!"

I really love the idea that Chuck is God. It's alot like Dogma and God being stuck in that coma. Except not because Chuck obviously had some power at the end.

It makes me smile. I never thought of it until someone mentioned it in another comment, but the idea of Chuck as God with Becky. Dude. God's kind of awesome. And it really shows that he can in fact love everyone. I like Becky, I do. She's just kind of annoying in her enthusiasm.

The more I let the finale sit and stew, the more I enjoy it. And the more I like the idea of Chuck as God. Sneaky bastard. ;)
