Dear Self,

When someone writes "flan," they are probably talking about the delicious dessert.

They do not mean Joe Flanigan. (Though sometimes they do. In which case, look for "The Flan.")

Remember this, and even short-lived confusion will be prevented.

Love,
Me

Damn it, now I really want tres leches cake.

Or, oh god, empanadas. Not the dessert kind. The kind with meat and hard-boiled egg and raisins and olives and mmmmmmm.

Methinks it's lunch time.

I would have made the same assumption, so don't feel bad. ;)

Or perhaps Flanigan is also a delicious dessert. I cannot say. ;)

I want Joe back on my TV.

They are so good. Although, yeah, depending on my mood I can take or leave the raisins.

A friend of the family once taught me to make them from scratch, but there was never a written recipe involved and now I'm like, omg, I should get ahold of her.

How do you start with Flan and end up with empanadas? Just curious...
and I did not know The Flan until this post and then I looked him up. Good looking guy, who do you slash him with? :3
I hope you realize you're driving me crazy with the wait for the PR/SPN fic...and the last posts....it's killiiiiiiing me. *cries*

Well, flan made me think of desserts which made me think of tres leches cake. That made me think of Spanish food and from there I got to empanadas. A friend of the family from Chile once taught me to make them from scratch and, mmmm, good memories.

Oh, Flanigan. He used to be on Stargate Atlantis, which I loved. My slash pairing of choice was/is John Sheppard/Rodney McKay. ::points to icon:: Sheppard on the left, McKay on the right. They take subtext to a whole 'nother level. I ♥ them.

It took me forever to find this on YouTube, but here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjs1249HBh4) is a scene from the second episode of the series. It's a good illustration of Sheppard/McKay, I think.

I hope you realize you're driving me crazy with the wait for the PR/SPN fic...

Sorry! I don't know if it'll help at all, but I'm 2500+ words into the fic. So, y'know. Progress. :)

At least there's a food joint! I...have no idea where I'd go, besides making them myself. Which I haven't done in years. It could be a disaster.

haha, omg the convenience of the supermarket. When I didn't live in the middle of nowhere, I'd find other empanadas at the store. But never the Chilean ones.

Damn. Now I'm hungry.
