One thing about tonight's episode of NCIS, "Double Identity":

Admit it, Tony, McGee's car app totally got you hot. As [livejournal.com profile] olivelavonne pointed out, of course it did, that's why he had to put the laptop in his lap.

And then he's got to hang on to the computer while McGee hacks his way in.

I mean, c'mon, it's McGee doing what McGee does. 1) Smart, 2) applicable in a way Tony can appreciate, and 3) it worked like a charm.

Can't blame Tony for getting a little hot under the collar. ;)

Meanwhile, on Southland...

Can I just say how much I love the interiors on this show? Especially when we get to see the characters' homes. The Bryants, the Morettas, Cooper's, Sherman's. I really appreciate getting to see inside their...personal space. (Now that I'm thinking about it, one of my favorite shows for interiors? Veronica Mars.) Anyway, I was excited for the further glimpse into Cooper's home. Also, a scene through a mirror.

Okay, so quick tangent because of the mirror...The first time I saw the pilot, I did not get that the guy in the bar (the one complaining about being arrested) was talking to Cooper. I thought he was at the other end of the bar, thanks to the mirror. (And thanks to some real world distractions that night.) Second viewing, I caught it straight away. I think it's interesting that we get a lot of mirror use with Cooper. In the squad car, in the bar, at his home. Though in the bar's bathroom, we don't really see the mirror on the wall much, which...might be interesting.

I really want to re-watch season one now and just focus on things like framing.

Other things:

- I really felt for Tammi tonight.

- Moretta's kind of an asshole. He couldn't have maybe waited to confront his sister (not that he did here) until later? Or privately?

Also the speaking in Spanish thing with the other detective. Not so much asshole-ish, just rude.

- Sherman and Cooper and their bickering and apologies and hand-waving. I...have nothing except that I enjoy watching them interact.

- Sherman needs better friends. Any friends?

- There was something else that was going to go here but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was. Woe.

- Poor Cordero, getting called "Russel". I'm glad he and Lydia are starting to click a bit more. Wonder where they'll be going with it.

- Watching this and Generation Kill, I am struck more and more by those jobs people take in which they see and do things on a regular basis that my mind just...cannot wrap itself around. It's hard, and I have much admiration.

And at the end of the day, Tony is busy boasting to Ziva all about McGee, and how his app is awesome, and actually useful, and he joked that he was "totally hot for McGee's ass -- app! I meant app! I'm not hot for McGee's ass!" and while Ziva's busy laughing her own ass off, McGee walks into the bullpen and asks Tony if there's something he'd like to tell him. And then he gives Tony this look, because the laptop on Tony's lap did not fool him. At all. And if Tony would like to discuss the capabilities of the app further, then McGee is free for dinner Friday night.
