SPN Drabble: All Work and No Play

This a drabble of a much longer fic that, OMG, I WISH EXISTED.

Dean, Sam, and Castiel visit the Stanley Hotel, the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's The Shining.

Also, note to self: you can exercise a spirit all you want, but in the end all you'll get is a ghost that's tired and sweaty and still very much haunting you.


All Work and No Play

“The Stanley Hotel, Dean?”

“What? It’s Cas’ first non-apocalypse related hunt. Thought we’d go old school,” Dean says, smirking across the front seat.

“We can’t exorcise the spirits at the Stanley Hotel!”

“Why not?”

“Oh, I don’t know, Dean, because people would miss them? They’re famous!”

There’s a tense silence. Dean glares at the road; Sam glares at Dean.

“Fine,” Dean says, giving in. “But we can still have a look, right? They don’t hurt us, we don’t hurt them.”

Sam rolls his eyes. “Fine. But the first time someone finger paints ‘redrum’ on the wall, we’re leaving.”

Dean pouts.

You just know Dean totally had plans to write 'REDRUM' on the bathroom mirror while Sam was asleep.

Unfortunately for him, Sam knows him really well. And Dean's kinda predictable.
