SPN, Among Other Things

My brain is a little bit on crack under the cut.
Supernatural - "Swap Meat"
Okay, so normally the whole not dealing with the aftermath doesn't really bother me, but the fact that Trevor's parents are going to come home to find their son's body in the basement with, I'm guessing, a gaping hole in his chest?
And the whole, yeah, let's not acknowledge that one of your friends killed one of your other friends while in possession of a demon they summoned.
That really bothers me.
But otherwise! I enjoyed it. Laughed a good deal. I love it when Jared gets to do funny. Oh, his face.
And I liked that it didn't completely ignore the whole apocalypse-thing. This morning, Mom and I were talking about it and she asked, "What happens if Lucifer gets to Sam when Sam's not in his body?" Which is exactly where they were heading.
What is Lucifer off doing anyway? Biding his time?
I was so glad Dean put 2 and 2 together.
Mom and I agreed that Gary probably would have gone with the demon had she not gone back and started kicking Dean while he was down. He did say Dean was a good guy.
Interesting Dean bringing up family life and whether or not Sam wanted that. Of course, in my mind he was just trying to get up the nerve to follow his "Yeah, me too," with, "Especially since Cas and I are, uh, y'know."
"No, Dean. What?"
"DoiniteverychancewegetIthinkImighthavefeelingsforhimmaybe," Dean would say, before stuffing his face with burger.
Sam would blink at him over his laptop, salad shake forgotten in his hand. "Oooh-kay."
They'd chew in awkward silence for a while.
"I bet Cas would appreciate a white picket fence."
And Dean would throw his napkin at Sam. "Dude, shut up."
And Sam would just laugh. Because seriously. What else are you gonna do?
Greeeeeeat, now I'm associating them (Dean and Cas) with "Somewhere That's Green" from Little Shop of Horrors.
Far from skid row
I dream we'll go
somewhere that's greeeeeeeeeeen

I'm at the Library of Doom tomorrow.
sdrohc_ratiug as asked me not to die while I'm there. I'll try not to. That town's a little scary these days, though I've never had any problems with anyone in the library. Or anyone in general. I skate by on niceness.
Meanwhile, I started working on a follow-up to Before the Night Is Through. I've also been working on other "Castiel's First Time ____" fics.
And, of course, what I should really be working on is the feature for the paper. The thing about features that freaks me out is that the people they are about will probably read them. I don't want the nice people I spent a pleasant hour+ to be unhappy.

Date: 2010-01-29 01:25 pm (UTC)And, in retrospect, I kinda wish Dean had put 2 and 2 together sooner. Had this twerp been a shapeshifter, Dean would've been toast.
And (okay, this is getting to be quite a list for an episode I apparently enjoyed) the first five minutes, where we actually got to see Jared acting like a 17-year-old, were hilarious, and I kinda wish we could've gotten more of that, instead of Gary-in-Sam's-clothes following Dean.
But other than that, I enjoyed it.
"DoiniteverychancewegetIthinkImighthavefeelingsforhimmaybe," Dean would say, before stuffing his face with burger.
XD I'm not going to be able to watch the episode again without thinking of this. And speaking of, why didn't Sam call Cas or Bobby...?

Date: 2010-01-30 04:03 am (UTC)Yes! Especially the girl. Gary's gonna take Sam's advice and then as soon as the parents get home, detectives are going to end up knocking on his door. It's going to be a painful, horrible mess.
I kept hoping that Dean had figured it out way before he let on and was trying to figure out what he was dealing with. But Dean wouldn't do that if there was a possibility Sam was in danger. You're absolutely right, though; the kid could've been anything. They were both really lucky it was just kids who didn't know what they were doing.
More Jared acting like a 17-year-old would've been great. It must be nice to change things up a little and get to play something slightly different.
It would have been nice if Cas had just shown up around Dean, simply because I think he'd have taken one look at Sam and gone, "What happened to your brother?"
