Oh, SPN. Why Do This to Me?
Jun. 14th, 2009 11:59 amSo I've got this Dean/Castiel fic I started working on yesterday that is basically just self-indulgent porn. It's nice to get over that speed-bump of "omg everything suuuucks blah," only now I'm psyching myself out because it's like, hey, you've only seen part of season four, what do you think you're doing?
So that's blah-making, too. Of a different variety.
That's not going to stop me writing it, though.
And it's not like I don't know what happens later in the season, like I haven't been watching clips and reading summaries and piecing things together as best I can. But I don't want to be one of those people that writes fanfiction for things they have never watched/read. And I'm not, since I watch the show. I just have limited resources at the moment.
On the other hand, I'm pretty good at taking my own first-hand knowledge of something and applying second-hand knowledge to that. It's one of the reasons I can write A-level essays on books I've only read a third of. I pay attention. Dr. Smith pretty much told me exactly this.
::shrug:: I don't know. I'll finish it and I'll send it to
ginnith and she'll be able to assist with everything except characterization. Well, and the whole "placing it within context of the show" thing.
