Things I Hate

Pet peeves were brought up the other day. This isn't so much a pet peeve as something that will make me shut down faster than a power plant with a radiation leak.

I hate that moment in conversation where you can actually see the other person's attention wander. Particularly when you are one sentence into a one sentence response. I mind it less when it's because of boredom - unless they've asked me a specific question - but when it's because something shiny distracts them?

It's stupid, I know, but it makes me feel like, well, what's the point?

I don't like to push myself on people, even conversationally, so I'm not going to continue talking once I've realized no one's interested. And then people ask me why I'm so quiet and all I can answer is, "I've got nothing to say."

Nah. Not you. Not that I ever noticed. Usually I'm just busy trying to keep up with you and Kasey. :) You ladies are fantastically clever and entertaining. <3

Mostly it's just an extended family kind of thing. Occasionally it's a friend thing, but not often.
