annundrielSGA - "Identity"
Mostly I enjoyed this one, but overall it was kind of meh. Maybe if it weren't the third episode from the end of the series.
This is in no way a judgment on Keller, but about halfway through I started to think it would be really interesting if the execution went through on the planet, leaving Neeva stuck in Keller's body. Jewel Staite would still play her, but it would be Neeva in there. And they'd have to address how strange that was for her and for everyone else because Keller would be gone but her body would still be there. I don't want Keller to die, I just think the following character issues would be interesting and really cool. Especially if the show weren't ending.
Then I realized that they did this on Angel and Joss Whedon is better at that sort of character stuff than the yahoos working on SGA. I mean, I love SGA, but geez. It's pretty much fluff when it comes to character stuff.
I am really looking forward to the next episode.
Randomly:
- I was worried for Zelenka! And it was nice to see Rodney worried at the beginning, too. Even if later he was like, pfft, whatever. But I guess that's just how he and Zelenka work. Though I thought Zelenka should've gotten the chocolates Rodney brought for Keller. Just 'cause. Loved the muttering in Czech and Carson being all understanding.
- Really liked the actress who played Neeva. Well, and Neeva herself. I liked that she was awkward and confused, but you could really see her trying to stay calm and handle things. I would like her to not be dead.
- But, boy, the casting people on SG really have a type when it comes to female guest stars, don't they?
- Rodney is adorable. I'm still not really happy about Keller/McKay and how people are like, "Really? Them?" But there is no arguing that Rodney is adorable, with his round eyes and allergies and the blanket. Aw.
- Ronon and Rodney both being like, "Something hinky is going on here." Especially Ronon. His spidey-sense was definitely tingling from the beginning.
