Just. No. And since the streaming on that particular video is streaming slowly, I've seen it three times now. Which means I'm still a week behind on The Office. Oh well.
I stopped watching Fringe last week. I wasn't getting much out of it, honestly. I wanted to like it, and I mostly do, but really only because of Joshua Jackson and John Noble and that's just not quite enough when I could be doing something else for an hour.
Like watch The Mentalist. I was semi-avoiding it because it just seemed like a more serious Psych, but I watched the last two episodes and enjoyed it quite a bit. I mean, yes, it is basically Psych with less fun going on (or, rather, a different kind of fun going on), but in a world of television where half of the stuff premiering is an Americanized version of another country's successful show, I don't think it's that much of a big deal. Plus, there is bound to be a crossover of ideas somewhere along the line. Like all of that stuff we learned in Intertextuality. Creativity does not happen in a vacuum.
And, of course, if you want to make a successful TV show, you pay attention to what's successful. They keep putting out CSIs and Law & Orders, don't they? And things that look like either or both. Crime procedurals are popular. So are quirky and/or broody detectives. So that's what we get.
Anyway. It's a show I can multi-task during, and that works well for me. Plus, Simon Baker's kind of adorable.
Meanwhile, I just read that Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof are going to have a baby! Aw!
