SGA - "The Lost Tribe"

OMG ASGARD!!

I was NOT expecting that! Neither was my mom, as we both went, "GASP, OH MY GOD." I love it when I keep myself away from spoilers. Sometimes I just can't help myself, but this time I really kept myself in-line and, yeah, surprises can be wonderful, interesting things.

I loved all of the scenes with Rodney and Daniel. I am going to miss these guys so very much. And I really liked the little moment when Rodney and Daniel thought Daniel was going to die. I wasn't too worried about Daniel dying, though there was a tiny worry at the back of my mind, but it was lovely with the acting and the emotions and the music. Aw.

And Rodney was just down right heroic this episode. Especially with the suits and telling Daniel that they didn't both need to go into the chamber. Oh, Rodney. ♥

John randomly had dogtags. Plus, y'know, he was shirtless and has lovely collar bones. And he kept asking if Larrin talked about him. And was exposed to more radiation on the Travelers' ship. At which point I commented to Mom that he really was never going to be able to have kids. Her response was, "He can't have kids with Rodney anyway." ♥

Speaking of the Travelers, their engineer person reminded me a lot of Kaylee. First she popped up and then it was like, "Oh yeah, she's fifteen and a genius with this stuff."

In an unbelievable, would-never-happen, cracktastic kind of way I really wanted the lost tribe of the title to be a crossover with BSG. And then it turns out Daniel is the final Cylon. He does keep dying and coming back after all.

Poor Ronon. I'm feeling more and more iffy about Keller. I want to like her, and good for her for coming right out and telling Ronon she's interested in someone else, but at the same time she keeps being molded to fit the situation. Which, sure, can be said about many of the characters. They certainly do it to Rodney plenty, but I loved Rodney to begin with so any inconsistencies I can sort of handwave away because I have that foundation built already.

And who's Keller interested in? Not necessarily just Rodney now.

Anyway. Woolsey! At this point I'm just happy when Robert Picardo appears on screen.

It was a good episode overall. Nice and solid, I thought. Not as great as "First Contact," but still fun.

I had the same exact reaction about the Asguard. I just kind of curled up and went "OMG! ASGUARD!" It totally caught me by surprise until they actually showed his face. It just kind of looked like the typical drawing of an alien and since my only experience with Asguard is Hermiod behind his work station, I wasn't sure what their lanky little legs would look like. It was a very good twist.

One thing that really bugged me with the little engineer was how bad of an actress she was. I mean, it was minimal line delivery, but it was given so poorly. Just kind of a "I'm reading them straight off the page without any sort of intonation or proper inflection". I dunno. It irked me.

I honestly believe they made jFlan wax or trim his chest hair, as we've seen in... that one episode... whose name I can't remember.... ugh... where his shirt's unbuttoned and he's incredibly hairy; moreso than in this shot. And seriously, when was the last time he wasn't seen with his sleeves rolled up? Someone was listening when all the fangirls said to keep them rolled up.

I really liked the last little bit with Rodney and Daniel and the whole "You can only say nice things to dying people" and Rodney's denial. It mostly reminded me of "Tao of Rodney" and how he tried to pin the "You said you loved me!" thing on Weir. Funny how things work :S

Woolsey's little commentary with Todd was great too.

This episode made me very happy. Sad they're going away in 9 episodes, but happy that they're still burning the midnight oil to come up with great great episodes to go out with a bang.

As soon as their lanky knees showed up, Mom and I were going, "OH MY GOD." I'd know those little alien legs anywhere.

Yeah, the engineer was just kind of...there. Definitely flat. I was going to say maybe she was going for confident and "I can do this" and it came off flat, but that's exactly what bad acting does, so nevermind...

Hmm, I dunno about jFlan's chest hair. I did a quick and dirty (that's what she said) comparison with the end of "Conversion" and it looked about the same to me. Maybe it's a lighting thing? ::shrug:: Possibly fangirls should do some research. And he should ALWAYS have those sleeves rolled up. If the show was going on longer, I'd say they needed to hire someone to make sure that happened.

Ha! It was kinda like the end of "Tao of Rodney," but reveresed. Oh, people, you just can't express your feelings, can you?

"Thirty-Eight Minutes" was the episode I was thinking of and this shot in particular was what I was thinking of in regards to the chest hair - here (http://www.stargatecaps.com/sga/s1/104/html/104x436.html)

Hmmm. I still don't know. It could still just be a lighting thing. And there's the fact that we only see his upper chest.

Why I am spending time talking about this is beyond me.
