sdrohc_ratiug got to see Neil Gaiman! Again! Last time we saw him was in 2005. If this could happen again in another three years (or sooner), I'd be pretty happy.
Like last time, I was pretty excited about it (obviously) beforehand, but still fairly collected. But then something happens when they introduce him and he steps out into the light and then I just feel this lovely uncomplicated joy and can't stop grinning. The man is wonderful.
It was also kind of the perfect night for the event - chilly and raining - and added to the overall atmosphere.
Sadly, though, this time I did not have socks with the man. ;)
Beforehand, Dahlia and I went to dinner at Taste of India. I may hate her a little bit now because where the hell am I supposed to find Indian food in eastern Wasthington? (Besides maybe Spokane, which is still a two+ hour drive.) The chai was to die for. omg.
Then I spent the night with my aunt and uncle and the twins. It was really nice to see them again. Saturday we went out to lunch and then Dahlia picked me up, we got bubble tea, and we came home. I miss the food I can get in Seattle!
I had a really lovely time for such a quick trip. And how can it not be fantastic when you're seeing Neil Gaiman?
