Birds Singin' in the Sycamore Trees

Two weird dreams last night. During the first one I had dinner with David Hewlett. During the second one I went to Vegas. What was I on?

Actually, I had dinner with David Hewlett and his wife, Jane. We were in Seattle and two or three other people were there, too. All I really remember is that everyone was getting along really well and there was a lot of geeking out going on.

Then after dinner we somehow ended up back at my house and I was showing Jane where she could go to feed Baz that was quiet and private. And then I woke up.

After I fell back asleep, I was in a place not unlike Las Vegas. Though there were still Seattle-like things there. I was with a girl that I knew at SU. She wasn't quite what you'd call a friend, but she was more than just a classmate. She was showing me around and hanging out, but then we ran into some other girl she knew, her roommate I think, and they ditched me without warning. We were sitting and chatting and then I looked up and they were just gone. So I wandered around in a casino by myself. Except this casino was like a combination of casinos and a mall. Each floor had a different theme and there was stuff going on everywhere.

The rest of the dream I just wandered and looked at displays. I remember specifically looking at jewelry. Then I walked past this bouncy castle-like thing and out onto a balcony/steps leading down to the street where I met a guy that reminded me a lot of a boy I knew when I was younger, but who I think was actually someone new. We talked about something that seemed important at the time (meaning of life stuff) as we looked down at the pedestrians. Then my alarm went off.

Where does this stuff come from? This time, I can pinpoint most of the influences, but there are days when I wake up from things and have absolutely no idea where the images in my head came from.

All the Seattle stuff was because of the drive to and from Seattle yesterday. I'm guessing the DH thing is related to SGA on the brain and also the fact that the guy is pretty fantastic and it was only a matter of time before he was added to the list of actors/famous people who randomly make guest appearances.

The Vegas mall thing...I did spend a good deal of time at the mall this weekend. Even had a dream about it night before last. No one ditched me though. I'm thinking that's carry-over from...other things.

The rest of it? Who knows. Who cares. Mostly I just find it interesting that after a couple of weeks of no memorable dreaming, I have two nights of dreams in a row. And one night with two cracktastic things going on. Weird.

It was a really good weekend. My friends Natasha (olivelavonne) and Rachel stayed with us. They got to experience farm life when it's fairly hopping since we're in the middle of raking/baling and Friday morning they started harvesting the sweet corn. And, oh, that was some good eating. Fresh corn for dinner Friday and Saturday. And fresh peaches sliced over vanilla ice cream for dessert. So good.

Speaking of corn, apparently this was our third best year. Anything above ten tons an acre is good. This year we got twelve. I can't remember how many acres of sweet corn we planted, but twelve is really, really good. And it was absolutely beautiful corn. So yea!

Yay for crack-tastic dreams, fantastic friends, and good harvests! I've been enjoying the peaches, corn, cucumbers and tomatoes that I picked up when I was home. There's nothing quite the same as eating fresh produce when you/people you know directly picked it that very day.

I'm glad you were able to get some peaches. We stopped by Verhey's on Sunday before taking Natasha back and were kind of lucky to go out and pick any I think.
